Ironical???? ehe
Allevi doesn't do jazz, that's obvious. He doesn't do classical music. But what struck me was not the banality... HAL but the genuineness. ...I admit that banal and genuine can be confused. Sure, I wouldn’t buy his CD. But I don’t mind listening to him. Bye.

Alright, let's put aside the banal and non-banal judgments. We both end up dulling ourselves. One more thing, perhaps I haven't made it clear. There's an abyss between Allevi and Evans. Period. They shouldn't even be compared. By compositional linearity, I mean to respect the frequency intervals within the scale as much as possible. In modal scales, for example, these frequencies are "juxtaposed" to such an extent that we perceive those "typical" distortions that converge in the genre. Monk (in my opinion) has exaggerated this concept too much. Too many distortions that don't help me "understand" his language. But of course, I don't take away anything from the contribution he made to subsequent generations. I believe these people are the ones who push the concept of music to the extreme. If we were to imagine a scale of "Jazz," he would be at the augmented seventh!!!

I almost forgot, I'm open to suggestions on what to listen to to improve my study and especially my musical culture ;-)

Mine is not trivial; it is a consequence of the study I am undertaking on the instrument. I must clarify that I still consider myself inexperienced. However, I love romantic classical music. So, in my opinion, someone who can embody these principles in jazz (which I appreciate perhaps above all) is Evans. I don't love jazz like Monk's simply because, until today, I still feel tied to an idea of "compositional linearity" that he, by nature, does not adhere to. Regarding Allevi, can we define him as trivial just because he is subjectively unappealing? In that case, nothing can be said. I don’t define him as such because, for example, in the album "composizioni al piano," I liked his melody. And it's not like he played "San Martino Campanaro"... Bye.

Yes. In fact, I do not agree. I don't know his personal life, including his honesty and everything else. I only know his music. I don't find it trivial. But since I've been given the "so be it," I can only conclude the conversation. With respect.

Happy shooting these numbers because you did a statistic??? Well, at this point, I'm curious to know who is WORTH it for you and why HE is worth nothing…
(ps. don’t fire the usual "names" at me, you need to make me understand what a pianist has to be for you to be considered Good)… regards
