I’m referring to Muse... certainly not Tool - who are great -... I hope that was clear - but it’s good to emphasize certain things.

OK, I agree with the classification. It's accurate. If you're talking about contemporary bands that are considered great - by whom? - you mention them and then say that they certainly don't have to please you, so in my opinion, you could have avoided mentioning them.

is there a controversy regarding the DT?
I think DaveJon and I were in agreement and no one was complaining. The DT play prog-metal. Bye and enjoy listening.

that is to say being excessive in the negative connotation. in my opinion, it can easily be a 3.5-4 album for the music that’s out today. it won't go down in history...

I’m astonished. I like the album, sure, but listening to you makes it sound like four good musicians sat down to shuffle the cards just to throw out these five tracks and show everyone they know the genre. I really don’t think so. They don’t seem like imitators to me. Listening to their other albums, you can tell that starting from tradition, they’ve developed their own identity. In contrast, it seems to me that what you’re hearing is just a rehash. Sure, they might not convince you that Yes are Yes, just like the early Genesis – and here I completely agree with you – music like that is perhaps something we can only dream about. But if I perhaps show a little bit of openness in my review – even if not too much – you risk making the opposite mistake, meaning being excessive in the negative connotation. In my opinion, for the music that’s circulating today, an album like this could easily be a 3.5-4. It won’t go down in history, just like the albums by Porcupine or other “imitators” of the prog genre won’t. The fact remains that it’s musically valid. The rest of the discussion then naturally and inevitably revolves around personal tastes, that is, what one expects from a prog album today.
See ya.

Karaoke experts? Wow! That's a letdown! If it's a good record, I don't understand the 2.

Lazlo, so this friend of yours is really something!!! (hihihi)
So give him a call and let me know. Anyway, it would be a 3.5 leaning towards a 4, but half stars don’t exist here...

Nicholls is not as explosive as Labrie in his early works, but he definitely has a very clean and delicate voice. I still stop at Metropolis part 2. I didn't really like Six Degree that much. Train of Thought even less. Octavarium, for me, they didn't create it. Just to be clear.
bye and good night

DaveJonGilmour I’m actually afraid of your comment after listening. Let me know what you think even after you’ve listened to the album. Nicholls reminds me of Labrie and Waters and Gabriel. Incredible voice!
