Iron Maiden The Final Frontier

After 4 days of intense listening, I must say that a 3 seems like an honest rating. The album has its merits apart from some episodes that are at least unnecessary... for example, in the context of the record, I believe that Coming Home doesn't fit at all, as well as The Talisman, which, despite being epic, is flat... while the first single El Dorado has a nice drive, it still feels like something we've heard before, especially if you pay close attention to Smith's work on the six-string - to me, it sounds a lot like Wasted Years. The rest contains interesting ideas, and in my opinion, Mother of Mercy, Isle of Avalon, Starblind, The Man Who Would Be King, and When The Wild Wind Blows are the tracks that alone justify the purchase of the album... perhaps for one time and just for one time, I might even think about breaking my rule of only reviewing albums that no one else has reviewed yet... we'll see... see ya!

I haven't listened to the album yet, but I have to admit that the initial riff of Eldorado, a song that ultimately gets lost in the refrain, makes me want to let loose...even though it's not original...anyway, I'm participating well in the legendary contest organized by Bartleboom, and I predict we'll exceed ten entries...I’d say 11...hi Bartolomme, you're awesome...anyway, the review is honest and smooth...

@Bartle: I knew I'd make you happy... I still have a few surprises in store for you... @Dott.Fottermeier: indeed, my dear reader points out 4:28 as the name of the seventh track, and that's what I've always called it, but on we7, where you can listen to the entire album, they refer to it with that odd name... well... if anyone can clarify the mystery, I'd be very grateful... See Ya!

But in the end, where do you go to catch these weird types? Anyway, portrait of a distant look is really a nice piece...
