The album "McCartney" was, in my opinion, the one that contained the most interesting pieces of Paul’s solo production; some things were indeed written with and for the Beatles, while others contained banalities that gave the first signals of what he would later produce with Wings. Sickly sweetness, no more than a piece or two worth saving from each album, three or maybe four for "Flowers in the Dirt." Unfortunately, what everyone had hoped for in the past has never occurred again… Lennon and Harrison to lend him a hand.

The Beatles owe much of their success to Paul's talent, but they owe something to John's talent if the most demanding critics have considered them.. and Scaruffi owes a lot to the existence of these two if he has gained so much visibility by despising them.

johnwinston, why did you choose the first name of Lennon as your nickname... from your comments it seems strange to me.
riccardo@ instead starts from his prejudices, then knows nothing about what he's talking about; he simply charges in head down like a ram against the Beatles. Plastic Ono Band is a solid, introspective album with a depth never seen before in Lennon, an album where he lays himself bare with uncommon courage. What do the songs from the '50s and the girls have to do with it? Could he be confusing it with "Please Please Me" from '63?
