I was waiting for your review.. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I already knew it would be a flop.. Hollywood can't make (anymore?) monster movies.. In the last 2 years, I've delved into the genre for fun, despising its childishness but appreciating the artisanal charm and often morbid "reflections"..
From the trailer and the clever choice of actors, this clumsy and overhyped sequel already proves to be vastly inferior to that semi-masterpiece, Shin Godzilla, not to mention the interesting animated trilogy from Toho.. The approximation and easy rhetoric that saturate American cinema do not mesh well with subjects that are less predictable and "easy" than one might think.. Godzilla is not just a Christian-squishing monster, and breathtaking CGI does not compensate for the energy of a good screenplay..
