Shane Johnson Star Trek: Mr. Scott's Guide To Enterprise
Voto:
What fascinates me most about Star Trek is its uniquely rare ability to develop an immediately recognizable "doctrine" of starship design that is unique and aesthetically captivating. The films, in particular, are a triumph of miniatures and conceptual studies that are a delight for fans of special effects, despite the fact that "The Motion Picture," in particular, is a difficult-to-digest meatball. But what a contemporary work of art the refit of the old USS Enterprise is! How majestic is the slowness with which it is revealed in its new form at the beginning of the film? It is a fact that the conceptualization of space travel has not been the same since Star Trek.
Mina Se telefonando (brano musicale di E. Morricone/M. Costanzo)

Normally, an operation like this (an intro filled with nostalgia/sentimentality followed by a more forced technical analysis of a square peg in a round hole) would make me want to vomit, but this time it worked because it really conveys the idea of what this song evokes.. Because we are truly facing a stratospheric piece that I adore as well.. I love everything, from the lyrics, to the arrangement, to that progressive-like drumbeat, to the production that gives the impression of a live-recorded instrumental part.. Perhaps you could have elaborated more on the historical background of this piece; it would have made for an interesting "documentary"...
Anyway, I detest incredible, over-the-top, outstanding voices with super range, like Mina's.. Well, "Se Telefonando" makes it bearable for me...

I don’t understand how the permanently drooping lip (probably due to some facial paralysis…) that sticks out like a sore thumb on the body of an influencer born in the '90s could be appealing.
However, I do get that it takes a considerable effort to try to piece together a few lines of “content” to describe the cosmic void of yet another noise-making, teen-oriented operation that has profit as its only source of life.
In this case, though, the effort was comparable to what one puts into the toilet after a night at an all-you-can-eat, and it produced results that were equally telling: a hefty pile of shit with a very high specific weight stuck to the bottom of the bowl.

A big shoutout..
I’m a lover of "minor" prog CDs (Greenslade, Cirkus, the first Camel is among my favorites) and I especially adore the great Andy McCulloch, who adds a unique touch to Lizard and will fit in wonderfully with Greenslade.. It’s a shame he then disappeared from the scene; he had a magnificent style for me..
Needless to say, this album will make it onto my list right away...

Actually no, take this because you are assholes!

The well-connected bourgeois who reinvented himself as a guerrilla, the guerrilla who became a myth, the myth that became Jesus Christ, the Jesus Christ that became a brand, the brand that became ringing dollars... The umpteenth victory of capitalism... Hasta la Victoria $iempre...

Camel A Nod and a Wink
Voto:
A clear step back from the excellent Rajaz, which is perhaps one of Camel's best albums, truly top-tier stuff. A Nod And A Wink is too fairy-tale-like, too soft, too romantic, too non-intrusive and not carefree at all; and indeed, it's worth mentioning that the best track is Fox Hill, which is also the most varied and progressive of the bunch. It's certainly enjoyable to listen to again, but it gets boring quickly; it's nonetheless played and produced excellently—if only there were more albums like this even in these years!
A somewhat lackluster review, but average overall; the decision to translate the original lyrics is truly terrible!
Max Pezzali I cowboy non mollano mai

I have thoroughly recovered from the misfortunes of youth without tainting an already decaying branch of contemporary Italian culture (music). Why did this dump not do the same? Perhaps they should have brought him to whores instead of introducing him to that shitty sculptor Cecchetto...
Terrible review, but with a second paragraph that borders on futurist delirium...
