The truly disheartening thing is not so much the sloppiness of the writing itself, the perverse morbidity of those who appreciate this stuff, nor the childish and insulting provincialism of this character from the Treccase Vesuviana festival (a shithole, n.d.A.). The sadness arises from the fact that all of this creates a cathartic trash effect that lasts at most the time of a burp, a fart, or at best a scratch of the balls. Where’s the spark? Where’s the poetic art? Where’s the reason behind this pile of bullshit thrown together so haphazardly?

I haven't read the biography written by Joshi, and I don't know when I will. For sure, we are faced with a monumental work, although I fail to see the reason for including critical judgments on individual stories in a biographical narrative. Be that as it may, Joshi certainly knows his stuff. The theme of the so-called racism of HPL is perhaps one of the most tedious topics concerning him, and it’s disappointing to know that it captivates so many. 5 balls for the review, mistakenly I rated the work with 5 balls, which I obviously haven’t read.

Ridley Scott Alien: Covenant

Rewatched yesterday for some reason, I found it absurd how the inner depth, the dryness of the tones, the unsettling arc of the protagonist android, and the intriguing pivot of creation clash with irritating special effects that are as phony, childish, and hastily done as can be. The puppet-like efforts lavished in Prometheus have been flushed down the toilet in favor of an aesthetic of diligent and empty CGI, featuring the ugliest xenomorphs ever and a constant decline in pathos during the scenes that showcase them as protagonists. It seems like an absurd critique, but the film really is wasted like this. Then again, okay, the Covenant crew doesn’t know a damn thing, but people that stupid would never be sent into space, not even with Virgin Galactic. One extra star, but only because Scott and Logan at least tried.

Old.. You are old; you write old, format old, reiterate the old, think old of an old film.. You again have the leftovers of the old.. You lack even the poetic ability to bore..
I've always found the film a bit overrated, but that’s another story..

The writing is so immersive and effective that after 6 sixteenths of a line, the mind is prompted to dissect existential doubts like "Is the percoca an GMO or a real fruit?" Personally, I prefer disgust to boredom, but I give you two stars solely because you don't want them.

Denis Villeneuve Dune

I reread the first novel six months ago, almost forgetting that this movie had been in the air for a while now. From what I've seen in trailers and spoilers, Mr. Villeneuve has done an amazing job. That Dune is a "slightly" complicated novel to bring to the screen is something even the trash knows by now, but the choice of a director like him seemed spot on from the start.
