Wonderful album.. I'm going out on a limb, but I find it more evocative than "The Snow Goose"; maybe because the style is a bit more varied (I think of the beautiful Changing Place placed right in the middle) even though the second side doesn't have the same impact as the first.. The triptych Docks-Beached-Landscapes is stunning, great performance from everyone and Colin Bass is also great on vocals.. But as we know, Camel means great music..

Given that all of ELP's albums (the first four, I mean) are masterpieces in my opinion, I also believe that as an album Tarkus appears weaker; records like the self-titled one or Trilogy have superior cohesion and sound better. But in terms of individual tracks, I think that just Tarkus is worth as much as an entire album in terms of expressiveness and artistic value, and is slightly superior even to Karn Evil 9.

Thank you Beat.. I saw that you had already written this review, but I wanted to write another one because I love this album, and I couldn't resist. I'm glad they appreciated it..

I apologize. In the beginning, I repeated the phrase "Dalle doti non comuni" twice... a typo. I ask for forgiveness from everyone; next time I will proofread better... Thank you ^^

It's not bad, king cole. It may be somewhat distant from the old masterpieces, but the Camels are still the Camels, and you can tell.. Moonmadness is definitely better, but this one also has some captivating moments.. I like it a lot..

Thank you all for commenting on and appreciating my review. Regarding punk, I must clarify that my judgment carries more personal weight than historical, as it expresses my aversion to a genre that negates the musical ideals I value.
Furthermore, I do not criticize electronics per se, but rather that synthetic pop of the Eighties that made the fleeting fortune of a bunch of bands inflated by MTV, which has nothing to do with the creativity and flair of the great groups of the Seventies who also dealt with electronics.
This is my point of view, and I would be interested to know yours. Thank you again to all of you.

Great album, in my opinion one of the best by Camel, I have a particular attachment to it. All the tracks are beautiful, but NEVER LET GO and ARUBALUBA stand out above the rest. Our four musicians are amazing, and a special memory for the late Peter Bardens. Thanks again.
