I don’t know.. I liked it a lot at first, but with subsequent listens I found it to be inferior to Beat, which in my opinion is the peak of their 80s trilogy.. Maybe because it gives me the impression of being a sort of experimental prototype.. DoctorJ, thank you, if you like I can prescribe you some suppositories as well..

In my opinion (I'm saying this at my own risk, I know...) Discipline is not that great; good work but not exceptional... WAY better is Beat and also nice is Three Of A Perfect Pair... I thank God that King Crimson and also bands like my dear Camel didn’t stop with the advent of the punk Middle Ages...

Your judgment is rather unclear and extremely exaggerated: Defining a pop song, no matter how well-executed and dignified, like Smooth Criminal, as "for connoisseurs" seems to me at the very least a bold claim. Aside from that, the excessive praise is, all things considered, not entirely justifiable. The album isn’t much to speak of, has aged terribly, and represents, moreover, the last redeemable gesture of a deposed king now to be forgotten.
