Catherine Hardwicke Twilight

I had no doubt it was crap. But how could you extract something not indecent from such a squalid plot? What a shame; but then do the girls really find orgasm in that faded big-dicked vampire? I don't know...

Mom, what an album! The joke is the best, the suite is a psychedelic trip. Inimitable...

A good movie that feels like a great movie thanks to the presence of AI and three exceptional sequences: the tango, the Ferrari, the ending.
Grant Wood American Gothic
Voto:
I understand that your point of view is that Wood became a conceptual artist against his will. Can we say it like that? It’s a valid discourse, but the fact is that in the review I couldn’t grasp it as well as in the subsequent comments. Personally, I think that Wood and his work have been gobbled up by a series of skewed critical interpretations precisely because their message was rather direct and ruthless, difficult to accept. In this framework, we find a bunch of things that, rather than representing or parodying puritan society, strongly denounce it. The cut and harsh face of the old man, which expresses a closed culture, the pitchfork symbolizing work, the Trinity but also the defense of one's home in front of the outsider, that is, the artist (a typical American image of the farmer threatening vagrants with a pitchfork in the barn..); there’s the spasmodic force of a clenched fist, the submission and fear of the "punished" woman. In short, it’s the mirror of a reality that is 100% a product of America. Perhaps at the time, a good part of Yankee society didn’t take it very well. Your argument is interesting, but the problem is that I don’t find the example completely fitting. But I’ll think about it...
Grant Wood American Gothic

The first sentence automatically undermines your entire argument. Among many convoluted phrases, some truly delirious, the main meaning of the picture is not clearly grasped, namely the representation of intolerant harshness, pettiness, and the epic grandeur of the wasps. The mere fact of having American puritans as the subject makes your opening line unnecessary and misleading: how can the culture of the 20th century "fit" in an image with which, for example, Europe has nothing in common, especially when considering the historical moment?

Maurizio Cattelan Tre bambini impiccati

Art and genius, my foot. Cleverness and a sense of marketing at a thousand. You said it yourself: more provocations = more visibility = more buzz = skyrocketing prices = $. Period. Performance art exists, but it's something entirely different and has a whole other nobility.
Tim Burton Sweeney Todd
Voto:
I haven't seen the film precisely because in many works, Tim is always, and too tiresomely, the same as himself. And then Depp is everywhere, enough already. The review is badly written, but some ideas might be shareable.
Pavlov's Dog Pampered Menial

Spectacular album, with incredible instrumental textures. What strikes me the most is the perfect blend of rocky tones and sumptuous, melancholic undercurrents of mellotron and violin. But I can't give it five stars because Surkamp's voice just doesn't sit well with me; I find it exaggerated, often out of place, and sometimes irritating. But that's just my opinion. For the rest, it's a real treat, very well done.
