Marco Travaglio Ad personam

First of all, I respond to Geenoo, who makes me say that I’ve dragged Traveglio through the mud. But where? It seems to me I wrote that he does an excellent job of reporting, well-packaged, well-argued; and therefore, he makes a living from it, he has built a career. Lucky him. I never said he is part of the filth he denounces. Read carefully, please.. it’s you, Italianetto, who in this instance practices the boring habit of putting words in others' mouths that were never expressed..

Did we really need Travaglio to open our eyes to the political class of the country? I find it absurd and pathetic to consider him a solitary hero; Travaglio does his job excellently, which is to sensationalize the disgust, the political chaos of Italy, and the solid practices of mercantilism. In my opinion, you don't save the country with speeches on TV and expose-books, and the fact that the figures he has condemned for years are still in their positions demonstrates the failure of his "campaign of truth." As far as I’m concerned, he’s someone who profits from it, like many others, and has understood that fishing in troubled waters pays off, and quite a bit.

You're right, Vasco is a factory, and I believe that almost all of his fans, ready to treat every one of his excretions as pure gold and to spit venom at those who despise their god, buy his records out of inertia, with the same habit and ease as when they put on their pajamas... Horrible just to say it. And you give him 2??

I can't explain why HPL's work has always been tied to C2-level film productions; perhaps because it takes courage to handle such material. When will we see a decent production with an adequate budget? I am hypercritical (perhaps too much at times), and as a staunch Lovecraftian, I think I'll always keep my distance from endeavors of this kind, especially considering that past experiences have been, to say the least, disappointing.

Well, the writing is well done, but there are some questionable positions. Why does a nostalgic person have to be sad and depressed? I'm nostalgic, but I'm not sad at all. And let's be clear, your argument about PG is valid, but at least apply it to an album of unreleased tracks; otherwise, it seems like a joke to me.

What kind of artist is someone who copies the few decent songs they make, and the crap they churn out from their ass is like "il grande Babumba" and stuff like that? Give me a break...

But the cover is scary... oh my gosh. How many times did you write "not bad" in the review?

Framed in these terms, the issue is more understandable and shareable to me. Perhaps the point lies in adding to the adjectives crazy, bloodthirsty, and mystifier, also brilliant (diabolically, of course). Only a character with something extra, as was his German namesake, with something terribly strong in addition, I mean, could develop and weave around himself a culture of blind and paralyzing idolatry, as well as devour the entire culture of a people. Who knows; for now, and without any resentment, greetings..

So, I don't know whether to support your criticisms not because I find your turmoil absurd, but because I read the book many years ago, so I can't judge; I've made that clear. Your final question still seems out of place to me because after portraying the monstrosity of Stalin, what's the need to ask who he is? At my house, a condemnation without appeal leaves no room for doubt. Do you agree? Or are those nonsense too? Either you condemn or you have doubts; it seems obvious to me. So which side are you on? Of course, it's proper and right to wonder how Stalin managed to get where he did, but that's a whole other matter. "I simply wondered how such a fierce beast could have this following": a legitimate question, but not the one that concludes the review. That's what doesn't sit right with me, if you allow me. You might think I'm a fool, but that's your problem. Regarding the patriotic war, in my comment #15, I state that I can't distinguish your opinions from those of historians; I can't understand that in the review, and indeed I stopped insisting.. So where’s the problem?

And what do you mean? Please, enlighten me... I’ve made precise critiques, just like everyone else, it seems... I simply find your doubt strange... After your condemnation without appeal, why question "Who was really Stalin?"... Come on, what is it that I'm mindlessly approving? Speak clearly; it won't hurt you...
