but I haven't confined this discussion solely to the music sector if you have noticed...it's true that there are people like those you mentioned, and I believe they deserve praise (whether you want to include me or not doesn't matter to me; I know my worth and what I write in my reviews)...but don’t come and tell me that this is a discussion we could extend to everyone? how many young people are actually interested in culture (musical, artistic or whatever you want to call it) these days? do you think that the internet is enough to compensate for the lack of stimulation that daily sours the reality of young Italians?

x Fidia: "Moreover, the photo of you looks like it's straight out of a random one by Valo. It's a romantic, dark, and brooding vibe. You're the first stereotype here, that's for sure." This was your comment, just to remind you. Anyway, you realized you were a bit unkind, and that's already a good thing. I believe arguing is pointless... Anyway, you're right, I’m almost twenty, and the time I live in doesn’t give me the chance to have the musical culture that someone in their 30s or 40s can rightly have. And I regret that, you know? I make a daily effort to discover things that my generation isn't interested in and doesn't have the chance to know, and I'm not just talking about this type of music, but also poetry, literature, art...

x deathinaugust: well, you can think I'm superficial, but I don't believe I am. If I really were, I wouldn't write accurate reviews, meticulously researching before doing so; I wouldn't care to know the history of an entire movement, along with all its prerogatives and influences over the years, would I? I'd be here thinking about how to make myself up to look more languid, about which trendy little black dress to wear tonight... instead, I couldn't care less about all of this... at the core of what I truly am and how I present myself (even in the virtual world) there are real emotions, and I won't allow you to judge that as well.

I'm not flattering you; I just said what I think. I liked the last reviews you wrote (and I gave a 3 for the Gathering review because I believe that tackling a description of that album is quite difficult... while for the Forever Slave I already explained the reason for the 2, but even there it was MY PERSONAL interpretation of your intentions, which could also be wrong). You're right, sometimes I can be arrogant, but this uproar that we all find ourselves in annoys me, and if I have something to say, I don't see why I should keep it to myself... of course, attacking me for a MySpace page or for my face (can you believe it?) seems stupid and pointless...

No, I will continue to write here, even if my presence annoys you. Also because I enjoy SERIOUS debates and I respect all opinions as long as they are based on reasoning, conviction, or an informed perspective. I didn't come here seven months ago with the intention of laying down the law, teaching how to write, or portraying myself as a connoisseur of gothic metal, as many think; none of this...

incorrect because they interpreted my PERSONA based on a myspace profile or the majority of albums I have reviewed...does that seem like reasonable behavior to you?

Well then, let's let everyone write, who cares if people read crap and suffer the consequences! And then, of all people, you, who are one of the reviewers I appreciate most for how you write - and what you write - come to tell me these things? With superficial kindness and let's leave it alone, nothing gets accomplished...

And so far, no one has sent me to that place yet. In fact, everyone has clearly expressed their opinion even though it’s always wrong. Everyone except you, who has been harboring a priori dislike for a while...
