I listened to the title track, and indeed there's a noticeable decrease in tension, a drop in apocalyptic tones, but it still remains a good example of traditional folk :)

Yes, you can, but if you also explain why it’s better :)

just go to their MySpace page and listen...

Then surely After Forever are not similar to a million bands like you say...

My criticism concerns the lack of expressiveness... unfortunately, there aren't many bands that can be called original, and even fewer that manage to convey emotions... expressiveness and the ability to transmit feelings come first, in my opinion.

I wasn't even talking about originality in my whole speech...

But you don't like them because you start from a priori judgment... find the similarities with other bands yourself... they will definitely be there, but they are well blended, creating a mixture that, if not innovative, is at least interesting and strongly expressive (a contrasting aspect compared to what is proposed by Symphony X, as far as I'm concerned).

Why are my sentences losing their logical thread? -.-

Anyway, I don't think there are a billion like After Forever... and what do you mean by this sentence: "forgive me, but after your words I was convinced that your listens were quite different"? Everything I wrote, I didn't write to act like a know-it-all or to show that I listen to better bands than the one described, since it all comes down to a matter of taste. Therefore, I didn't intend to crucify the reviewer for their tastes, but for the way they positioned themselves, criticizing the band for a strong lack of expressiveness replaced by redundant technicalities. Can I make myself understood?

I was thinking...sorry for the mistake. Anyway, I didn't say they are geniuses or masters, if you follow my messages you'll find a logical thread. I took an example that carried the same subject matter (perhaps with less technical showmanship) as Symphony X, but with a bit more emotional heritage...that's all.
