When speaking carelessly about topics that are close to the heart, it’s only right to take oneself seriously... Anyway, the message above was written without addressing anyone in particular, since I read the discussion but didn’t pay too much attention to names... By the way, now that I read more carefully, I have to add that Funeral were the first to introduce that variant (the female voice), even before Gathering and Third and The Mortal... then regardless of historical value, I find that "Tragedies" is truly a remarkable and underrated work by all doom enthusiasts.

The review is as per script excellent. Now I would like to make a few comments on the discussion that has emerged here... The themes of doom go hand in hand with those of late eighteenth-century and early nineteenth-century English romanticism, just to give an example. Of course, even within a musical genre, just like in a literary movement, there are various ways of expressing oneself... But to uproot the romantic connotation from the musical trend of doom is quite a leap; after all, just reading Byron, Keats, Shelley, or some German or French author, or even the great Leopardi would clarify this (among our own authors, by the way, the conception of man as a speck in the universe is also present in Pascoli)... My Dying Bride fins? Aside from the fact that this is a downright insult, it has no positive connotations and I believe it is offensive to some people, as it refers to a modern stereotype of homosexuality that does not reflect reality at all. It certainly doesn’t seem to be the most suitable adjective to describe the band in question... And then, personally I have never thought that a distorted guitar should be inherently more devastating than a violin or a piano... The sense of devastation does not lie in the pure matter of the sound of an instrument, but in the way the musician makes it express, and I assure you that Martin Powell was a genius of the violin in metal...

Having listened to the track... they wanted to play the rustic folks with their guitars and they succeeded, but can someone explain to me what connection the chorus has with the rest of the song... in short, they've messed up again, let's hope the album is better than the single...
