I went to see it last night... well, if it was supposed to be inspired by Matheson's book, then they really messed up the film; in fact, they truly disregarded the message that Matheson managed to convey at that time through that beautiful reading: in a world now inhabited by a new form of human life that was slowly evolving and reproducing, he had become the different one, the monster, he was the chimera... for me, the best remains the one with Vincent Price.
