But has anyone noticed that "La mia valigia" has the same chords as "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak/Hymn, if you will? As for the rest, it really feels like a Pelù solo album repackaged for the occasion... what a shame, because Ghigo is still in good shape.

I approached the JA as a layman with this album... what can I say, I liked the singles, but I didn’t have high expectations for a group of people in their 50s who have already given everything, and I was right. They completely lack the anger and conviction that at 50 years old you can hardly still have, except for rare exceptions (like Killing Joke). Who can recommend something from their better years?

I would have fully agreed with this review after the first two listens, when I was really pondering which dumpster metal gets recycled in... then I decided to be patient, and the pieces started to emerge, I assure you. Not all of them, mind you, "lights" will always be for me a tired meatball, "safe without" the epitome of fillers, but "memory serves," "all of the ways," and "the undoing" will surely have a place in my greatest interpol list.

No problem… oh yes, let’s hope to see them back on stage soon. For now, there’s news about an album that seems to be almost ready; Absolute Dissent appears to be one of the standout tracks, and judging from this link, what can I say, they seem anything but retired!

@Ruud: maybe, if you read it again, you’ll find that we’ve written the same things.
Anyway guys, hold on tight, they’re coming back... Absolute Dissent!

I quote Mike. It seems to me that this rush to judgment has not benefited the in-depth analysis and objectivity regarding an album that truly deserves much more than just a few listens. On the other hand, I'm sure that the fact of not being immediately understood will serve it well over time. I've had it in heavy rotation for 10 days, and each time it seems better to me.

for a moment Bologna like the Lower East Side of NY! an anthology box set was released just last month, who knows if more people will realize how great they were..

I also enjoy taking on "lost causes," so if I find it at a very reasonable price, I will buy it! Nice review, in any case.

Of the classic Matia, I only have Tango, with the memorable "elettroshock" and "il video sono io." I'll get this one soon, after your lovely review.
