Starblazer: 1) this is anything but Norsk Black Metal, 2) the scum will be CoF or Nightwish, just to name a couple of pearl bands with which you have delighted us in the past. Come on, do us a favor.

Incredibly ahead of its time. Tracks like Elisabeth Bathory still sound fresh today. Nice suggestion ;)

Gustavo, don’t say that :( regarding the writing: aside from the fact that Darkthrone have NOT been making the same album for 20 years (try listening in sequence to "Soulside Journey," "Under A Funeral Moon," and "The Cult Is Alive" and let me know what you think), the review is actually a bit scandalous. A band I have never delved into and consider mediocre.

One should simply make it clear that Black Metal is not represented in its pure attitude by elements such as Gorgoroth, musically appreciable but intellectually deplorable. Black Metal is nothing but an idea, a core that has been developed in every possible and imaginable way. One cannot judge a musical genre based on the poses and attitudes, whether shared or not, of a band. Then we could claim, based on phrases like "Norsk Arysk Black Metal" or reading documents such as Vargsmal, that Black Metal is a racist and far-right musical genre, without worrying about the existence of bands that rightly oppose Nazism and totalitarian doctrines as demeaning to human dignity. Instead, let's judge with an open mind; let's embrace different artistic expressions and not limit ourselves to a musical genre: if I listen to Hate Forest or Crimson Moon now, it doesn't mean that in ten minutes I can't turn to CCCP or Negazione, rather than King Crimson, Museo Rosenbach, or Robert Wyatt. I still believe that everyone should be able to express themselves as they wish, but that a deep understanding of a phenomenon or genre is necessary to judge it knowledgeably.

Beautiful page. If the album is equal to Gospel of Inhumanity, I believe I will get it.
