I'm sorry, I must have confused the group or the album, since I consider this one of the most boring, flat, and drearily melodic works of recent years. I don't like the new Deicide, and I don't like this one either.

Personally, I don't like Neuraxis, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, and of course, Amon Amarth.
Brodequin Methods Of Execution

Not exactly, those are the ones where the guys wave their arms randomly this way and that, hitting each other.

Devourment has plenty of hardcore vibes, just listen to those slowdowns all ZUMZUM or those breaks PAMPAMPAM. It's all groove, typical hardcore rhythm. You can also recognize the slam because the musicians wear crooked hats or slightly baggy beanies, and the guys in front of the stage (not all of them, just the posers) do silly hardcore dances as if it were an emo concert.

Slam is the guttural brutal that’s all the rage right now, started by people like Devourment (may they always be praised). It’s a brutal style where groove is very important, so it has hardcore parts during the slowdowns. And it also features a very guttural growl, often modified. It can be a good genre, but in recent years it’s been overused and countless shit bands made up of posers have emerged.

There's a nice difference between Slam and Brutal weight (Ultra Brutal Death). The Brodequin don't have hardcore in their tracks; on the contrary, they are the heaviest, most rotten, and old school brutal out there. Glory to them!
