Iron Maiden Somewhere Back In Time: The Best Of 1980-1988

For the comment above, it’s easy to understand what I meant, that "infinite dreams" is a beautiful piece, regardless of Dickinson. It seems all very clear to me; I haven’t written anything contradictory, and the oxymorons are quite different. I don't think there's anything else to clarify, right?

some ravioli should just stick to the shit they review, and those who understand, understand. so I replied that this "SHIT" should have been reviewed by them, judge for yourself what I said or not. and the pretentious one who adds spurious motivations (sorry for the tongue twister) is you, as your opening sentence demonstrates (a little).

I’m back with a hit-and-run just to correct the usual (and malicious) inaccuracies that abound on this site when talking about Maiden (like saying anyone can shovel shit, with the clear sense that this is something not in the DNA of the average user, at least when it comes to Harris & Co.). It’s like saying, hold on everyone, here comes the prophet of absolute truth. And one thing has tired me, I take it as an insult; I haven't criticized anyone but the band and their music, don’t act like a narrow-minded fan who confuses criticism with an attack on the object of their adoration. And with this, I no longer want to argue, as you put me in clothes that don’t belong to me and distort what I want to say (which you can quietly disregard) turning opinions/thoughts into sophisms that serve their own purpose. You should reread it yourself; I did.

Beautiful review, really. The vdgg are truly immeasurable, fantastically refined music but never “distant” from the listener, as it should be for the greats. I saw the album in the store, but the cover didn't attract me; I thought of those posthumous works by certain prog bands (Yes and Genesis above all) that have nothing more to say. I guess I'll have to get it. But does this come before or after presents?

last sentence worthy of an Oscar... too bad it was decided by you and not by the poor history of rock..

In the end, I went ahead and made the papyrus anyway.. :) anyway, I think that infinite dreams is a great piece, and I don't criticize them, but what they do and have done, which is far more important.

I did not write "shitty group." I'm not a typist, and I won’t respond with a lengthy discourse. You're making paternalistic remarks that are truly ridiculous, indicating that your position is far more fundamentalist than mine. Take a breath and you'll realize that you haven't even understood what I wrote, let alone what I meant by my "unfounded criticisms" and "senseless epithets." I couldn't care less about how arrogant I might seem; rather, think about the fact that you assume I don’t know or even understand the Maiden. Criticism, especially metal criticism, hails them as deities (9/10 for the latest in Metal Hammer), and the last few big names in the industry have made their critiques much more moderate. However, the qualitative analysis done by those who have harshly criticized them (who knows why, you must be persecuted, perhaps) is not necessarily (always) unfounded. Now, setting aside personal tastes, the Maiden are bothersome because low-quality music is annoying, especially when sold as gold; so if I don’t like them, and therefore consider them musically shallow (which is obviously subjective), I can obviously be annoyed by their offering (obvious, right?). When fans and success create the history of music. You assume others speak without knowledge from your lofty pedestal of understanding: but you've only legitimized for yourself the inviolability of certain dogmatic truths, small or large as they may be, which make every dissent bounce off your wall of wisdom and common sense. No criticism is absurd, and nothing is objectively false, at least as long as we remain in the realm of personal opinions, yours and mine. Regards.

Ah, read my comments again, I think you got confused. I've written only one comment here, maybe two. I then forgot about Deliverance, which overall wasn't bad.

Dear prog87, I used to like Opeth too, up until Blackwater Park. This album seems rather predictable and plastic to me, and banality was never a flaw I had noticed in this band, more or less. Then again, tastes are tastes, and maybe I'm being a bit extreme, but it disappointed me quite a bit.
