Beyond everything, I am rather curious to hear. And the minestrone post wave/post everything, as in the case of Arcade Fire, is not necessarily a symptom of a lack of horizons.

Ahah I see it everywhere too, although now less. It's not as recent anymore, fortunately :)

you can't keep up with them anymore :) I also saw that video at the Rollins show, and it sounds pretty bad. In any case, the ugly truth about the mv is that they haven't made even one album that I would feel comfortable recommending wholeheartedly. They're rock - fast food, they force you into indigestion and in the end, the most desirable thing is to just get rid of the inevitable nausea. I saw them live, and after the initial excitement, I found myself with my balls enlarged by a generous 20 kg.

very cool review, but it seems you dislike Mars Volta and their kitschy stew that's a bit Zappa-like - and a bit I don't know what else. I like it, just like the chaotic sound of Rodriguez. here they were fast and whatnot, but for me, they aren't particularly original or essential.
Norman Jewison Rollerball

I really liked it a lot, although the main limitations of the film now are visual ones, even though I am very fascinated by the retro future ("a" future seen from the past, and therefore borrowing various elements from it). The concept of this film has been revisited a million times, but it remains a beautiful film even if you approach it now. I gladly skip the remake :)
Porcupine Tree In Absentia

some nice pieces here and there, but a disco without head or tail.. many pop melodies, many traditional songs that sink due to Wilson's lackluster voice and the coldness of the other performers. the metal guitars with an Opeth influence that pop up from time to time are dreadful. definitely prefer the early PT, even if I still think they are far from essential..
Mike Oldfield Ommadawn

oldfield has always left me indifferent, good review..
