I expected it to be the weak link of the trilogy that includes hole and nail, but I had to change my mind. While the other two can be compared to ever faster and noisier centrifuges (like descent into inferno, sickman), here Thirlwell reaches the climax through accumulation time after time, and the effect is devastating, as on "the dipsomaniac kiss": when you think you can't handle the crescendo anymore, everything implodes in a riot of strings and noise. The instrumentals are also insane, and the production has made giant strides compared to the previous ones. For me, it's a small masterpiece.

I grabbed it as soon as it was released and devoured it between the evening and the following morning. It's true that it’s magnetic, metaphorical, grotesque, but at the same time human and moving. Perhaps there’s a bit too much going on, both in the hellish descent and in the blinding final redemption. In my opinion, there are moments when the caverna seems to want to prove itself as a "true writer," a complex that haunts all pop rock musicians grappling with "high" artistic forms. Overall, though, it’s a great book; I need to read it again. The review is beautiful.

really nice review, cool name for the band. I’d also give it a download, worthy records (even if they’re kitsch, that’s totally fine) did they make any? or should I take this down?

The album is very beautiful, and it still sounds good today. Personally, I love Vedder as a singer and as a songwriter, especially here and on the subsequent "No Code." The other members of PJ are certainly not geniuses, and when the ideas are lacking, it's noticeable. (I listened to Yield yesterday.) However, I don’t understand what they would be pioneers of...

a mess. If they hadn't released the demo at a certain point (cleverly reserved for those who had made the pre-order), they would have managed to pull off a decent hit by exploiting exaggerated, and perhaps a bit unwarranted, hype. @lordmirror: if you really want something in that vein, try Bulletstorm or Rage (not on PC, though).

There's quite a lot of talk about it, and the review piques my curiosity even more. A round of applause for not delving too deeply into dialogues and situations.
