Great review, I am regretting it, actually a lot. I'll have to stew until the next similar opportunity, so I might be stewing for quite a while. But did Mick Harvey leave the bad seeds?

As for MGS4, I think I'll pass; I don't have a PS3 and playing the third one in German was enough for me :)

In the three, against the aging sniper, if you saved the game before the confrontation and waited a week, when you loaded the game, a cutscene would start showing Snake discovering the corpse of the super villain... or Psycho Mantis in the first one, who would turn off the screen and read the memory card... Metal Gear is a great example of video game ambition, despite the hours of inactivity the player spends in front of the FMVs... :)

about movies based on video games: aside from the fact that I can't recall even one that I'd consider decent, or at least watchable, the existence of these films doesn't really show the relationship between movies and video games but rather the commercial appeal of brands like Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, etc. Furthermore, the movie based on the video game is a standalone product that merely borrows the plot and settings, which isn't what defines a video game. The video game movie remains simply a movie, very commercial and with very few artistic ambitions. @nosebleed: more than an arcade approach for fun, I also meant engagement, immersion, and all those aspects that have come about with the technological evolution of the industry (I’m quite behind, by the way).

I mean that while the film or the album, in a sense, "are useless," they are completely independent of the viewer; for the video game, the discussion is different: it is an exercise in skill, and the focal point will be the player who must be placed in a position to have fun. Otherwise, one could almost say that a soccer ball is a work of art :) However, I wouldn’t see a playful section on debaser as a bad idea; after all, games lend themselves well to the review format, probably better than the interiors with their attached ratings referencing the Old Testament and the Divine Comedy. I don’t know, maybe a little space could fit.

beautiful game, about the playful section I wouldn't know. the video game primarily seeks entertainment, the sole purpose of the format. it may have elements of a certain "artisticity," but its only goal will be the enjoyment of the user. (those who call them little games are wrong to a certain extent..)

To be honest, I downloaded it quite a while ago (with low audio quality) and well, after a couple of full listens, it made me want to put it on again: it’s true that the first track resembles "Televators", but so do the other long, exhausting, slow acoustic pieces. It's worth noting the frightening lyrics as usual, but with the added burden of taking center stage over the monotonous, rippling arpeggios of Lopez, (totally lifeless, the one on guitar on this record could be me after various gastronomic excesses) creating tragicomic effects. Basically, after a previous epileptic album, bursting with ideas for about ten records, the band this time limited themselves to producing a work based on a single idea, that of making the "mellow" album. In my opinion, they didn't quite manage it well.
