Iron Maiden Brave New World

to overshadow, they overshadow, no discussion... In an interview, the lead singer of Blind Guardian talked about the commercial suicide in case of a tour coinciding with that of the Maiden... And it can be said that they are the most important metal band (for better or worse) but not the best, and certainly not at this moment; their matter of ecc is worth less than a note from the last Opeth and even from the debated "new" Slayer album, who do their job with style and without too many pretensions. Of course, these are personal opinions that also take into account the fact that lately metal hasn't been my thing. Peace.

eheh true, you're right, it's just that they are in heavy rotation on my brother's stereo as his favorite band... And there's a lot of talk about them as the best metal band, which annoys me because I find them really, really verbose. Anyway, Debaser is an opinion site and if I see 5 stars for this half junk (The Wicker Man has the exact same riff as Running Wild by Priest..) I say my piece; then, with all this media attention focused on Maiden's music, it somewhat overshadows the reality in metal music that many could speak about, yet it is often said that metal is finished because the Iron are still its flag bearers.

@cptgaio: I don't think I said that metal is inflated because of the Maiden; I just find that they don't have much left to say, as you well know... Anyway, I'm ready to bet that the title won't stray far from the usual theme of war/death...

The review is very thorough (almost too much XD), I really like the album, like, a lot; I haven't listened to anything else for days.. It's just a shame that they've taken refuge in the predictability of more canonical prog-rock/metal, considering that this one and the previous one are gems of modern experimentation combined with impeccable melodic taste.

Let's hope it never sees the light of day!!! This album is simply terrible, just like how the Iron Maiden land in the new millennium, remaining true to themselves. Among other things, the production seems rough, the vocals have an alien quality to the song, and the effect is unpleasant... It’s really hard to get to the end (good Lord, the endlessly repeated chorus of Blood Brothers!!!), but I know that someone made it and that some people like it. Maybe it's better than the last two, especially the last one, which can be counted among the worst releases of the year from EMI. But perhaps it’s not even (entirely) their fault; metal is saturated, and it’s hard to come up with something interesting: maybe it’s better to hang up the instruments.

beautiful review, I quite liked the album, it’s been a while since I last heard it, but definitely (for me) not the masterpiece you claim it to be and not the piece of trash that many say it is... Credit to the production, truly above most thrash metal albums, precisely because it’s different and (maybe) more polished... @the trooper: stop judging other people's opinions and in general having that air of being a defender of the metal faith (a stance that the more flamboyant Judas Priest had, just leave it alone) because you’re annoying and out of place. peace.
