Not even for me (in this case) was the definition of the Beatles as a "boy band" meant to be derogatory. It was just to respond to popoloitaliano who said that the Beatles pre-'65 were "part of music history." They were the chrysalis of what they would become, producing good pop pieces, but they were not above the average of what was circulating at the time. (If you want detailed lists, ask neu)

History of music also tells us that until 1965 they were nothing more than a boyband.. But the songs say it too, just turn on the player, put in I don’t know, "meet the beatles", and press play..

In my opinion, the vocal parts of this album are not a flaw; in fact, I detest the singing in most Italian prog bands, which I often find redundant or baroque (e.g., Il balletto di bronzo). PFM is a dive into good taste and elegance. Without unnecessary sensationalism, the various parts are never intrusive or heavy, and they shine more with each listen.

I had prepared a mega galactic post, but it must have been swallowed by the warp.. I wanted to say that the last one is very pop, indeed, and easily digestible overall due to the simplicity of the tracks' plots, which led me to set it aside after various (many) listens. Kid A and Amnesiac are, for me, the most successful in terms of content, and the subsequent Hail to the Thief is, in my opinion, a good summary of what was done previously, with several gems and generally my favorite tracks. I really don't like the first two, excluding something from The Bends..
