Hi Alex,
well, the single is nice (even though it has the riffs from The Magnificent Seven by The Clash).
Anyway, among all the Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Strokes, Interpol, Maximum P., B.R.M.C., etc., I struggle to find things that are "FUNDAMENTAL."
Maybe I’m just being skeptical, even though technically they are all excellent and manage to release at least a couple of successful singles, but it’s hard for me to part with 20 euros...
Every now and then, though, I do find something interesting...

Good old Jack! Great!
And with Brushfire Rec. he even brought in Donovan Frankenreiter (great surfer!...and then with the boards from S.Prescription...) and also G.Love (who with Hustle made, in my opinion, his best album)...and all looking stylish.
Nice review.

Oh, but lately I always find myself commenting on Audioslave...
It seems like a sensible review, manikin.
It’s true that there are other reviews of this album, but it's (I believe) the philosophy of de-baser to give space to everyone, with all possible critical nuances.
Back to the album, I like it!...
Just one note: Cornell's voice reminds me in some parts of Flea in the latest RHCP. Or is it the other way around?

Hello!
I'm briefly responding to POINT BREAK (great nickname!)...
Whenever there are waves (and when I have time!), I head to Versilia, from the Forte Pier (which I don’t frequent much...) down to Viareggio and Lido... I’ve gotten into "soul surf," minimalism instead of using a board... I would do anything for a house by the sea and to surf every day...
I confirm the impression about the Audioslave album (even though Stinger is right in his response to Antuana's review - on the same album - saying there are no thrilling riffs...)
Anyway, it's enjoyable, and on Saturday it served as the opening soundtrack to a close friend’s bachelor party... and given what happened, it will be one of the albums I’ll play more often...
Hasta luego!

Hello! So, talking about Audioslave is strange. They’ve faced tons of terrible reviews regarding the creation of Cornell+Morello&Co just because it doesn’t have the same energy, anger, and urgency as the first RATM album. That’s true. But I believe that no one could pull off an album like that now. Case closed. And you can't make comparisons every thousand years on every sonic creation that comes out. It’s a field and a genre where there isn’t much room for invention.

If they made a boatload of money, if Rick Rubin rubbed his hands together, if it was (also) a commercial operation, well, Amen, good for them.

I have the first album. It’s not the masterpiece among the CDs I own. But I listen to it, relaxing in the car, when I’m coming back from a surf session, when I go with my girlfriend to the marina amidst the sand dunes... it’s a laid-back listen, not demanding... but thankfully! I don’t plan to always listen to Fantomas records to rack my brains and try to be cool... or those by High on Fire... Every now and then, albums like that are just what you need... I’ll get it... (if only for the cover!) And, on a scale of 5, at least a 3.5 is what this album gets. Saludos!
