Queens of the Stone Age Era Vulgaris

Psychedelia, Kyuss (cleaned up!?!?) and stoner... you used terms that really have nothing to do with this album. Without any arrogance, I would suggest you review the career of Homme and his companions. Take it easy with the terminology: calling someone the "Midas of rock" alongside the "Olympus of rock next to the greats" is truly a danger!

Hi everyone. I believe this album is a testament to Joshua Homme's ongoing musical journey: from the breakup of Kyuss to the formation of QOTSA, where he has experimented and continues to "grow" (musically speaking) by constantly touching on different genres through collaborations with diverse artists. I emphasize TOUCHING, because the essence of his songs has always remained the same. The only relatively new element is the purely melodic tracks, a trend that began in the past with "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret," "Mosquito Song," "I Never Came," "Long Slow Goodbye"; so it’s not a surprise to hear closing tracks like "Running Joke" or number 4, "Into The Hollow."
Equally common is the album opening in the style of "Turning on The Screw." The novelty certainly lies in the musicalities TOUCHED by the tracks. It's not new either to have singles or potential ones in the style of "Sick, Sick, Sick" (the video is worth watching) or to have choral endings to the songs. I repeat, it’s the nuances that make the difference; in many tracks, for example, the choral parts take on a delirious tone (see "Run, Pig, Run," my favorite) or a tribal one ("River in the Road," maybe I'm blaspheming but they remind me of System of a Down!). Personally, I perceive a distinct melodic improvement in Homme’s vocal delivery (revisiting "Make It Wit Chu"), even if for some it might stretch the limits a bit too much (see "Suture up Your Future," still brave). And there are strange blends of styles, like in "I'm Designer," a melody that reminds me of the old Dave Grohl interspersed with the Eagles of Death Metal. Or local-style releases for beer lovers ("Battery Acid")...
In short, I really wanted to review this album :-) but I’m fine with just a comment. Hi everyone!

Genre that I ABSOLUTELY don’t know, I’m judging the review after your request in chat :-) 3 is the approximate score for excess :-P
