Punisher, we can only improve a little bit at a time. Rebelde, we should still consider that there are examples like the Nordic countries, where women's representation, especially in politics, seems to be at an excellent level; I've never been to Sweden, but if someone as reputable as Milena Gabanelli is telling me about it in a past episode of Report (I believe it was last season), then I’m inclined to trust it. To truly understand the reality, we would really need to travel the world

I want to clarify that in my comment n°13 with the expression "they're on different planets" directed at Carlito's and Scarface, I didn't mean to say that I find the former superior, period. It simply seems obvious to me that they differ in genre, or at least in the way they are treated. @Hetzer: indeed, sometimes the screenplay really drops the ball here, let's be honest; that's why I don't think it's a great film. Just out of curiosity, www.imdb.com gives Scarface an 8.2 (with 134,471 votes from around the world) defining the genre as: crime, drama, thriller; for Carlito's Way the same genres in the same order, although I would have put drama before crime, with an average rating of 7.9 and 46,529 votes. Basically, Scarface has been voted on more than four times the number of Carlito's, which should give you pause.

How many have I read about Atlantis :-) so many that it's driving me crazy! Yet ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming an archaeologist (Indiana Jones surely helped with that :-P, but I already knew about the studies that awaited me and I was fascinated by them)... then I took different paths, and fate didn't allow me to pursue it either. That's life.

I'll be honest: I found everything very readable, so I followed the entire review with particular interest, but I do not agree with the conclusion. And honestly, I wouldn’t even know what to say: two brothers can receive the same education but end up in different circles; I hope you would agree. One note: I know a gentleman whose license was revoked for quite a while, high blood alcohol level, he was stopped just a few meters from home; now he has a criminal record. Hundreds of tons of drugs, oceans of super-alcoholic drinks, machines that steal well-paid "tokens," etc... what kind of world are we ending up in? One final note: regarding marijuana, not many days ago I watched a television program, it was evening but I really can’t remember, in which it was shown how some "paralyzed" individuals had resumed using limbs or even walking better using the recommended by doctors (so it was dosed)! If I remember incorrectly and the substance wasn’t that, please let me know, maybe I was a bit drowsy. Thank you.

I was saying that sometimes you start with a topic only to end up somewhere completely different! I don't think this should always and necessarily be seen as "schizophrenia" in commentary!

I am highly fascinated by all the themes discussed in the latest comments. 19LUNGHEZZE, thank you for all the insights. I have read everything about the Egyptians but especially about ATLANTIS... I believe there is so much more to say about it. And to think we started from a book on the mental inferiority of women :-)

Calm down 19LUNGHEZZE, every taste and the right one ;-) and let's try to maintain a calm tone please. With affection, KTF2

That final scene is really beautiful. I find there are even better films, although they might be labeled as "commercial," that haven’t been reviewed here on DeBaser (no names); I believe 5 stars are too many. I think Sean Penn is truly excellent because he plays a role that is completely outside his usual range! Conversely, Al Pacino is a perfect fit; that's why the former surprises me more. I don’t know, the review here and there seems confusing to me... By the way, the comparison with Scarface isn’t even plausible; I believe they’re on different planets that have nothing in common.

I meant to be a supporter of his position beside Jesus and perhaps even something more, not his fan :-)
