I’ll be honest, I no longer feel like wasting time with you. You have your ideas (rightly so) that, as much as they are debatable (at least from my point of view), I’m trying to respect. U2 have been (and are) one of the most important bands of the last 30 years, but a large part of their fame is undeserved; the fact that they have made 2 or 3 great albums is well known. The truth is I don't like them, just as I don’t like Duran Duran, The Beatles, Marillion, etc... but while these bands aren’t celebrated, they at least inspire a certain level of respect, unlike U2 who consider themselves the eternal fathers. The truth? I think they suck, but they have their fans, and that’s fair enough. With this last comment, I want to end this back-and-forth, but one thing I can guarantee is that I am and will always be a proud detractor of Bono and company.

I understand what you mean, but the Depeche of "yesterday" were original and communicative, while today's ones follow market trends (commercial sounds, bland videos, weak lyrics). The decline began (in part) with Ultra, coincidentally the first album after Wilder's departure. I believe the Mode are resting on their laurels, and let’s be honest, just seeing a CD with the label "Depeche Mode" guarantees that at least 8 million copies worldwide have already been sold just for the band's logo.

The time is there, trust me.
