Well, if once a month you feel like listening to black metal, I wouldn't miss this... it's not exactly "depressive" in the subgenre sense, but it's just as heartbreaking; plus, the production is excellent, any death and grind enthusiast can listen to it without saying, "What the hell is this album recorded like?" I recommend Nortt: Ligfaerd, Xasthur: suicide in dark serenity, Drastus...

Yes, but considering your tastes, you wouldn't like it!

I liked it. This album/show makes everything the Kiss have done in their life seem superfluous.

Yes, absolutely little. I don't like labels, but for this album, we talked more about Extreme Symphonic Metal than Black Metal....

Thank you. I truly believe that the album is one of the best in its genre. However, I understand that subjectively everyone may have differing opinions. Perhaps listening to it might not resonate with you. I hope you enjoy it. Anyway, I'm not here to sell records or to show off... I'm trying to be as objective as possible. Thank you.

Enough with these protest reviews: if you think there's a brilliant message behind these self-promoters, let us know!! Don't keep it to yourself!! The purpose of a review is to explain why certain music is beautiful!! And then try to be objective: giving this album the highest rating when everyone knows that Vol 3 is much better!!! Always speaking objectively.

If Fred Durst is the benchmark for anger, then we’re in a bad place: of course, compared to him, Slipknot seem downright threatening, considering that guy shows up at MTV awards (you made me say that name twice)! There’s no black metal to be found; I just listened to "Eyeless" again, and nope: that’s always a thrash riff, with vocals that draw from grindcore or brutal death styles (a bit like Pig Destroyer), but that has nothing to do with black metal.

Well, here we're going off the rails... first of all, I should mention that apart from Iowa, I have all the Slipknot albums, so I'm not just talking nonsense. Second: being a distillation of all the heavier genres doesn't necessarily mean being heavy in return; I would use the term surrogate rather than distillation, given that MTV only airs watered-down versions of extreme music like Dimmu Borgir, Slipknot, Coal Chamber and so on. Not to mention, there are others.
