Sorry, but re-reading my comment, it seems that you missed a point: I didn’t say that the music you listen to sells millions of records, but that MTV’s people do: it’s obvious that no one here listens to Spears (!!). And then I don’t understand why you attacked me: I just said that metal will indeed represent 50% of the PRODUCTIONS but not 50% of the revenues. How would that be possible, considering that just Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, and Aguilera (I imagine "estimated" at 200 million) could cover the sales of 90% of metal bands? That’s what I meant, not that you listen to Eiffel 65, Gigi D'Agostino, and Rihanna...

hahahaha! Metal would represent 50% of the music market? Sure, right..... it's a pity that chart-topping pop (pop rock, from Britney Spears to Bon Jovi) sells around hundreds of millions of records a year, while 90% of metal bands don't sell more than two thousand copies.. as far as I'm concerned, I will never give up on power, even though I have been able to appreciate some of Helloween, Rhapsody, and Blind Guardian; excellent review, precise and comprehensive. bye

I don't know them. I'm just at the basics, just to get a fundamental understanding; since I have to review something about Evoken, I wanted to recognize the sub-genres, the trends, and so on. I must say that I was really impressed by the English bands, Paradise Lost (gothic), Anathema (Silent Enigma), and My Dying Bride (Angel); I was indifferent to Katatonia, and specifically the funeral (Thergothon, Tyranny, My Shameful).
