Before listening to depressive, I recommend, my friend, that you immerse yourself in black metal, adopting some classics to help you decide on an internal direction within the genre based on your tastes: Mayhem (De mysteriis dom sathanas), Burzum (det som engang var), Emperor (In the Nightside Eclipse), Darkthrone (Transylvanian Hunger), Satyricon (Nemesis Divina). If you're already familiar with these titles, then you can dive into depressive: I recommend Nortt (this above), Xasthur (Suicide in Dark Serenity and The Funeral of the Being), Leviathan (Tentacles of Whorror): these are all very difficult albums to listen to, and they require a connection to particular themes or atmospheres: but if you enjoy certain albums, there are many others to explore. There are few albums sung with a clean voice in extreme metal: I now point out Sham Mirrors and Masquerade Infernal by Arcturus; the albums by Borknagar; something by Ulver. (read the reviews on the site for more clarifications)

I agree. In fact, this is a difficult album to review, and I cared too much about it to discuss it in a typical manner. I opted for different paths. The ending came to me like this: I was thinking about the absurdity of most of what surrounds us, which is probably also apparent to Nortt.

I’ll write the review-reply in a bit; I don’t want it to be seen as an answer, for that I’ve already left the post. nortt... is vaguely buffoonish, but he has given so few interviews that honestly I believe he’s more stupid than malicious (unlike shining and company). for lethe: in this case, however, nortt is very different from the drone: here there is music, and there is a compositional effort: in my opinion, ligfaerd is among the most extreme examples of music in song form.
