The most beautiful album by De Gregori

For its time, a beautiful record. I was a kid and the song - just like the previous Fiera dell'Est - really impressed me. Today, a lot of water has passed under the bridges...

Unfortunately, even the most poetic and poignant album, when infused with political undertones, becomes a mediocre album. And Lolli has always directed all his music towards a specific implied political stance.

Are Dead Can Dance beautiful?.... I saw them up close in the '80s, I talked to them.... two little people, she with a nose like Battiato and eyes of a hypothyroid; he with a certain fairytale charm.... but physical beauty is really the least of their qualities.

I liked this album, especially because it's varied and not easy to appreciate on the first listen. It's not my favorite genre, but it's digestible and original in its own way.

I only like the second part of this album, which contains the famous "The king will come," the beautiful ballad "Leaf and stream," and the poignant "Throw down the sword." The first part has an excess of melodic clichés, and the epic flair of the aforementioned tracks is expressed a hundred times better. Nonetheless, it's an album I have in my collection.

Perhaps the most beautiful album by Radiohead.

Being a voice outside the choir when it comes to "The Piper" might cost me a scolding, but I honestly have to say that despite the historical and cultural significance of this album, I've never thought it deserves top marks... whether due to its instrumental rawness or because it's still influenced by reminiscences that have ensnared some tracks in the mood of an era. The Pink Floyd did much more and gave so much later on, when they perfected their style and freed themselves from Sixties connotations. In this regard, "A Saucerful" is certainly superior, as are volume 2 of "Ummagumma" and some parts of "Atom."

Frankly, even though I’m not a big rock fan, Billy Idol has been quite underrated, considering he’s one of the few who managed to blend all the trendy genres and sounds of the '80s pop-rock so well. The 9 tracks on "Rebel Yell" are a summary of 80s thinking: a splash of punk, a bit of synthesizers, pure rock'n'roll, sexual ambiguity, hedonistic and colorful machismo... all of it played well and with a very engaging overall atmosphere.
