This record makes me want to gag. A self-indulgent and affected self-celebration from Nelson who has completely lost the plot and is now miles away from gems like "When doves cry." Burton's Batman deserved a different musician.

Ligabue is the declared manifesto of Italian musical culture: he fills stadiums, sells records, has thousands of fans who adore him and believe that his lyrics are the best philosophy of life possible.
He practically writes the same songs year after year, with two fixed formulas: the ballad and the heavy rock. He always uses the same chords, the same vocal inflection, and says the same things over and over again.
Yet he is idolized. If this is what people want...

Not exactly the best work of the three... of which I definitely prefer the debut album and the delirious Brain Salad by far. Tarkus is uneven, with toy-like sounds and a too heterogeneous B-side.

For Paperoga... "After the Ordeal" is not only credited to Hackett... but the main theme is his, and the others worked on it as arrangements. In my opinion, the boundary between the compositional idea and the production of a piece is not that flimsy. Furthermore, keep in mind that in large groups, the issue of copyright (that is, royalties for the crediting of pieces) has often led to historical inaccuracies: someone signs even though they did not write the piece, due to internal agreements, contracts, etc.
In fact, it appears that Hackett was the one who came up with the piece in question. As for Collins singing, it is true that he had previously lent his voice. I was a bit imprecise because, in truth, I wanted to emphasize that More Fool Me was the first track that showed how the Genesis could evolve in their management under Collins.

For Bjork68... the upside-down corolla-shaped hat that Gabriel wore during the live performance of "I know what I like" is not the orange flower from Supper's Ready, but rather a kind of purple bellflower with a green stem.

Undoubtedly one of the most significant and underrated groups of the last 25 years. Revelations is indeed a challenging album, not very catchy, where it is important to be familiar with both the lyrics and the music. Perhaps their least known album, but one that has been seminal for the years to come.

I respond to Enrybaxx. Don't think that I underestimate Jarre or consider him a lucky scriptwriter. If you read my review of Oxygene, I spoke very highly of it and gave it ***
However, I have my own perspectives in the historical reading of musical evolution, and since I don't follow Scaruffi, I can tell you that these are completely my personal evaluations. Only 30 years have passed, and there are still many things that need to come to light: hindsight for a precise picture will be available in at least 100 years.
