But can you make it, you pair of fools? Exchange emails, for God's sake.
Anyway, I find the album absooooolutely dreadful. Let me begin. I used to adore Korn during their self-titled debut and Follow the Leader. Issues was listenable but insignificant, Untouchables simply insignificant. I loved them for being unique, with sounds that were rounded here and broken there, surprising, the voice chilling and orgasmic (?!?) at the same time. Now, before downloading the album (because, sure, down with piracy, but given past experiences, there’s no way I’m giving a dime to SIAE and Korn for such crap with my eyes closed), I read an interview in a magazine where Jonathan claimed this would be a return to their roots (and that Untouchables is his favorite album… but whatever, I pretended I didn’t hear that). Well, if returning to the roots for you, my dear Jonny, means just screaming into the microphone aimlessly, and the comparison to Pantera is just dead-on, all accompanied by sounds you crafted yourselves, but worse… then spend your days with your porn star girlfriend and don’t fool me into thinking you’ve come to your senses. He also said in the interview that for the past few years he hasn’t done drugs or drunk anymore. Start again, damn it, because you were better when you were messed up, even in your lyrics… and don’t give me false hopes, the hope of finding an album that actually slaps.
I don’t know, maybe Korn were meant not to last too long, filled with limited originality. It’s sad when a band you felt was yours becomes so pathetic. I think ā€œuffā€ is the most fitting expression for my emotional state…

I'm not convinced by the fact that it reminds me of college rock, a bit more pumped up, a bit rougher, and a bit less college than classic American college rock. Aside from that... I absolutely love the album; when I picked it up more than a year ago, I listened to nothing else for a month, then I dropped them cccchiena ccchiena and hadn't revisited them until now.
A curiosity... how can a basic melody be so cheesy? There are several parts that occasionally annoy me, like in "Always Your Way," which, however, is a small gem. Likewise, "Gentle Art of Choking," how the guitars and drums relax before the verse is beautiful. "Cemented Shoes" is my favorite; the drums slightly offbeat on the "I'm faaaaalling... at yooooour feet" fits perfectly... "Grounded" sounds like a Foo Fighters song, "Cor" has a powerful little riff, and "Losing Touch" is splendid, acidic and tragically just right... "Last chance for the modern man, stay silent if you can, but everything's ooooook...," and the acoustic version brings a tear to the eye. Also, "Falling off the Floor," the music is stunning, but the vocal delivery of the verses makes me cringe. I’m not crazy about his voice in general; it’s a bit too camp, but he knows how to use it, and he’s quite a decent piece of eye candy too. Salaut.
dEUS The Ideal Crash

buy dEUS, buy dEUS, buy dEUS!!! I prefer In a bar under the sea, the ideal crash seemed a bit more "monotonous," although monotony is a term that clashes with the essence and sound of dEUS, so take it with a pinch of salt (the term, not the album...). Here you have the driving drums of the ideal crash, the purely instrumental breaks of some instrument I don’t know, still rather acidic, that at the end of everybody's weird lead into the final psychedelic frenzy, the sweet magic hour... And then Magdalena, which is a masterpiece of simplicity. Whatever you buy from them, you’ll be getting a great deal!

First point, I agree on the crudeness of the language, but I am not a supporter of the lexical snobbery typical of the Accademia della Crusca. Second point, I disagree that it is unsuitable for a woman. It may be inappropriate for a situation, but I don't think this is the case... I don't believe I have been offensive, so where's the problem? If the de-basers have issues, they have my email at their disposal. Third point, what advantage would I gain from pretending to be a woman?

maximum respect to Giovanni Lindo and his face, but I admit that during his (agonizing) performance I had to escape... after 3 hours of "vigorous" music a double lament is not exactly the best... while Morgan, whose album I think is CRAP, blew me away live! Amazing, wonderful and engaging music, with funky echoes and a PERFECT voice despite bouncing around and playing the piano. With Elisa, the same story as Gianni, maybe worse for me, because her voice is objectively beautiful but subjectively such a pain in the ass, especially when accompanied only by the piano. She's good, but what a drag...
On the other hand, I really liked the two songs with zampiglione (that's what he's called), simple but well done versions. I don't remember the Marlene, damn these joints, but it seems to me that Sonica was a bit underwhelming, while another one was done by God...
Well, I could've just kept quiet.
