Beautiful retrieval. One of my all-time favorite movies. I also believe it marks the true debut of Will Smith, who is amazing. Sutherland is a sure thing, Stockard Channing is fantastic, and her close-up at the end is worth the entire film. Well done, Giola!

I copy exactly from another review of the same film: And finally I can say "I was there too".. To the many lengthy comments, I can only add that there was applause in the theater as well, and for me it was the most enjoyable cinematic experience of this entire year. I found it spectacular, just as I expected, rich in references that never tire me, and as soon as it’s released on DVD, I will definitely get the original copy immediately!

Absolutely agree with ARIES, and with those who appreciate Virzì without glorifying him for it. The film should be watched because even though it does so in a deliberately grotesque way, it portrays reality for what it is, bitter and on the edge of tolerable. Excellent performance by the lead actress. And well done to you.
