@TELE: As often happens, I completely agree with what you’re saying, especially about dubbing. However, you know that someone told me that the beautiful Laura is like that in real life too, right? I hope it was just a moment...! I’ve admired her for past work, and she still remains very talented...

@PEOPLE: actually, what drives me crazy the most is the anagram HEAT IN THE JUNGLE (I don't remember exactly how it's written and I'm logged in from my phone, forgive me)...

It's a terrible oversight on my part, I know, but I still haven't seen it. I have it on my wish list though. Interesting review, even if it partially reveals the ending.

I have them all, I would say. But, while acknowledging the beauty of the complete works, it’s Discipline that I’m really crazy about...

Sorry, maybe it's not clear that I meant to talk about films that are shot with live sound instead of being dubbed..

Still regarding dubbing, what do you think about "modern era" films that are mostly in direct sound? Aside from the aforementioned Roman accent, shall we talk about the enunciation in general and the new trend of swallowing entire letters, making words incomprehensible? The speed of spoken delivery – I think of a Morante or a Muccino – which makes everything sound more like spitting than speaking!! Not good.

It's great to see all the discussion about dialects, accents, and the like. It's true that currently, in most cases, dubbing has the dialect characteristics of Rome and nearby areas, especially for low-cost TV shows and series. Regarding the Sordi debate, I would like to point out that this is precisely one of the films where his character differs from the myriad of others he has played, and it's one of the reasons that makes the film so "strong," that is, the transformation from an average and meek man into a cruel and brutal executioner. One of the most intense and raw Italian films. A masterpiece, indeed. Well done, Enbar.
