Um.. can I be a party pooper though? November 1st is not the so-called Day of the Dead, but the Day of Saints, as stated in the quote: "The Catholic feast of All Saints falls on November 1st, followed on November 2nd by the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, and it is a holy day of obligation that included a vigil and an octave in the calendar of the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite" (Wikipedia). Apart from this nitpicking, the review is beautiful, but I don't think belches and gargles are my style, even though this year I've taken up the "chitarrone," as a dear friend says. So I only give my vote to your writing, which is stunning. Kisses.

Heard just yesterday on a car ride in the rain, enjoying immensely. A beautiful and very evocative review that I had missed, oh my! Finally caught up! Bye.

As above, the two gentlemen. And especially yes to the "pregna." Beautiful proposal that thanks to you I'm listening to non-stop ;)

Oh my God, what are you digging up for me!!! Well, yes, I suffered for a long time to get this record because it was hard to find for quite a while. It took me about a year, if I remember correctly. Great suggestion and great review. I only disagree on the issue of the Duke's Cover, but I guess I'm the only one, sigh! I mean, it’s not horrible as a song in itself, especially when compared to the music of that period. Of course, the original is something else entirely... but Bowie’s version doesn’t suck, come on... Anyway, well done, Deb needed a presence like this :)

Madonna bonina oh how eloquently and ancestrally you speak to me! BUT do I like them? No, because if I like them, what the hell are you waiting to pass them to me???

Sorry, Topography of Terror, but the meaning doesn’t change…

Like Giola in comment n° 11. Moreover, I have just returned from Berlin where I had an immersive experience of National Socialism, the Topography of Terror, and various excerpts of the war and its consequences, including deportation and Anne Frank. Let’s just say that at the moment I am on edge, and that’s enough for me. But excellent writing. I should reread it more calmly. I might come back to it, perhaps.
