I see the review today.. And I like it. Back in the days of "Blackout," I had just had to end a relationship (read = I had to end it, although I didn’t want to, but I was completely pushed to do so), and that song was a real punch in the stomach with every listen, even a distracted one...

Hi Maximum, really nice review. I have the first of the MN and I liked it a lot back then.. If this one is so much richer as you describe, you're making me want to have it... I'm thinking about it. But is it possible that no one knows/considers them?? Kisses

Wow Lewis, I'm speechless! I absolutely have to have it. I only know POLITICS, picked up on a whim after casually listening to and watching the beautiful video of La Ritournelle (a ca po la vo ro!). Great!

PS: I reread it: I apologize for the typos and syntax errors, there are quite a few! but I'm in the office and I have to constantly open and close the dialog window...

For about two years, I’ve been meaning to write something about the music of this monster (in every sense) sacred, of which I own almost all the rare CDs. I cultivate for him a pure love and an admiration that borders on reverence, and perhaps precisely for all these reasons, I have never truly managed to decide to give it a try. Writing about him without explaining his character, his alter ego "marcio (gainsbarre), concurrently with his musical creative spark, without talking about the historical and musical period in France and Europe, without mentioning his Jewish origins as well as his poverty, and without discussing his sweet perverse love for the female world, is no small feat.. And this is why I haven’t managed to write anything yet, because everything would seem incomplete to me. I couldn’t talk about his music without talking about him and his complete story. You managed to capture some nuances by discussing the simple story of this CONCEPT ALBUM (perhaps the first in French rock history), but despite this, for those who are not familiar like me, it will be difficult to truly understand what masterpiece lies before us. Anyway, congratulations on the choice. A hug.

Alex, you are absolutely right! I got the release date of the CD by Hollis in question wrong, which was 1998. Ah, cursed alphanumeric keyboard! I really messed that up. Thank you for the correction! And no one noticed!

Hi guys, I’ve surprised you, huh? It’s been over a year since I wrote anything, I don’t know.. we’ll see about the future! Nice to "see you again," nice to see your virtual faces.. you know, to better enjoy the site I asked the IT manager to unlock it, he was very kind, otherwise I could only access it during free moments which are zero. So, first of all, I only gave 4 stars because I don’t know the other works and I wanted to be objective, plus it’s true that it’s a CD that can seem "difficult" at first listens because it really just lacks a bit of pep to make it a true masterpiece. As it stands, for me, it’s an excellent work to listen to only at particular moments precisely because of its so blue mood. And I rarely give out top ratings. I really like LogicProbe’s comment, I think he understood exactly what I meant. To be honest, the CD was kindly obtained in Mp3 format by my better half, to whom I had talked about it so much, but if I found the original I would be much happier. So thanks for the suggestions.
Kisses ;)

Beautiful review, I completely agree. Gorgeous album, but you know, I'm one of the patient fans.. The talk about "adult lyrics" is very true.. pure longing, baby.. Kisses

Dearest Alex, yes I have some real gems on vinyl, but I believe they are now hard to find... I have almost all the EPs from Sparkle and New GD.. But me too, with the advent of CDs and especially with moving around everywhere, I haven't listened to them in ages because they are still at my parents' house!!!
