PS: by the way, I can't find The Big Express either in original versions in specialized stores or online... does anyone have a tip for me? Thanks.

I had the immense pleasure of getting to know them back in the day, starting with English Settlement, which, at the time, was only available on vinyl and had the advantage of being still complete (as I mentioned in the posts about the review of the aforementioned CD, the record label unfortunately decided to shorten the double vinyl album in favor of a single CD, thus losing tracks that couldn’t be found for years, before the rise of P2P). I was blown away and mesmerized by the variety of sounds and the mastery of performance, because besides their incredible inventiveness, they are also truly amazing musicians!! I found a bit of everything there, from new wave to post-punk, to British pop, along with some typical sounds that echoed bands like Pink Floyd and The Police, just to name a few, not to mention the obvious reference to The Beatles... And it was the very early '80s...
@Franci, the essentials: Drums & Wires, English Settlement, Skylarking, and even The Big Express, just to give an idea of their pop journey... Hi everyone.

Blackdog, you made me laugh a lot and kept my attention line by line! A splendid review for one of my all-time favorite bands; I have everything of theirs, including the vinyls of Beeswax and Waxworks, just to be clear. I didn't know that Skylarking (which, by the way, I was listening to while opening DeB's CASAPAGINA and you can't imagine my surprise when I found Mummer in the front row!!) was considered their most mature masterpiece. I have an unhealthy passion for Drums & Wires and English Settlement, which I rank 1st and 2nd respectively. Wow, it's so nice to read about Xtc on a warm afternoon in 2009!!!

A greeting to everyone, and in particular to you, Crazy, who wrote an enjoyable and straightforward review that made me want to see this final chapter again, despite my decision to be done with Terminator after watching the third one. Honestly, I’m not sure if nostalgia is worth the expense of those 7 or 8 euros for a ticket; perhaps renting it or "something else" might be better. Anyway, gracias. Bye.

Giona, I reread your review carefully, looking at all the links along with the comments. I must say it's one of the finest pages on DeBaser. I’m giving you my vote again; those who know me can tell you that I’m not one to easily give a 5...

Exactly, it's him!! And the piece you mentioned is my favorite from the album. In fact, I bought it as a fervent admirer of Vecchiocampo, so I can say that the maneuver with the record companies was completely successful..... Bye. Fsk!

Hi Giona, your review is beautiful. The only Pekka album I know is the studio one made with Mike and Sally Oldfield, which I obviously don’t remember the title of right now, but it’s among the vinyls I'm most proud of. You really piqued my curiosity and I’ll make sure to fill that gap. Thank you!

A very well-written review that I completely agree with. There wasn't a single track that distracted me from what I was doing and made me lift my head to stare at the stereo. A bit of sadness because I have been (am?) a fiercely devoted and enchanted fan of Placebo, and now I partly miss those emotions. I listen to the first three albums and find solace.

Bleh, another little review of a "light music" piece, huh? I'm really curious to know what the 3rd one will be... you never cease to amaze me. I like how you write, I really do. Kisses
