Why did he send me the comment twice? Oh well.

The Great Gig In the Sky is one of the most thrilling pieces I’ve ever heard in my life. And this is perhaps the best comment I can make on a rather heretical review. There is really so much to say, but I want to add that the PF were not just a band of drug enthusiasts, but also a group that (as shown in Dark Side) managed to sum up all of humanity in 41 minutes and 59 seconds. I don’t give ratings.

Stanley Kubrick Eyes Wide Shut

Honestly, I found the review complicated, and I also find it difficult to rate this Kubrick, not perfect as usual due to the incompleteness in the editing (the film needed to be revisited and "cleaned up," but the director died before that). In any case, the film remains very beautiful, and as always, fascinating at a directorial level, with the shots that ONLY he knew how to create, and with a dazzling brightness.

PS: I obviously have this Imaginary, but unfortunately I haven't listened to it yet!

@supersoul: Burnt was the 3rd album by Zappa I listened to, and it drove me crazy almost immediately. Once you get the hang of the Rats/Jawaka/Wazoo trilogy, you can easily dive headfirst into Burnt (drool!)

@Bubi: I believe the best way to dive into the universe of Zappa is to jump right into Hot Rats (to understand who you're dealing with, just maybe referencing his best piece that you already know, Peaches...), and then move around it, passing through Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo, and taking a look back with Absolutely Free. Personally, I also highly recommend Burnt Weeny Sandwich, still one of my favorites (and I've heard soooo many by now).

Q: Are all of Zappa's CDs five-star? A: No, but we get very close_________the genius of our century, nothing more to add (I can reveal the "missteps": "Francesco Zappa," "Thing-fish," and in my opinion a bit also "Jazz from hell"__all of them, however, in a ridiculous measure, talking about the "worst of the best"...)
