Metallica Live In Birmingham NEC 5/11/1992

The Black Album is superior to ...And Justice, apart from a few minor missteps, in my opinion. It's often called a commercial album, when it's forgotten that with the previous one they truly began their services to MTV, with the video for One (which, to be clear, is a masterpiece!). In comparison to Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master, however, I think (and I emphasize think) there's nothing to be done: a lost cause from the start.

Yes, maybe those punk-hardcore influences didn't make me love them, even though they were completely absent at first; they've developed over time with their stylistic evolution. Anyway, we are forgetting about Pantera, even though they actually don't fit in at all during the timeframe we are discussing. But... their contribution cannot be forgotten! :)

Among drummers, I like Nick Menza! :)

But why do you judge Testament only by their drummer? I remind you that in the years 87-88 they released The Legacy and The New Order, not just silly stuff. And I also remind you of a certain Scholnick, probably one of the best thrash guitarists ever. Megadeth? I was mostly referring to Peace Sells from '86, precisely because I was talking about the entire second half of the 80s, including '85 of course, but I wasn't only referring to that "year." Maybe I didn't explain myself well... I wanted to extend the topic to a broader time frame...

I wouldn't be so proud of it...

Perhaps I could be misinterpreted. I repeat, Anthrax is a great band, I still enjoy listening to them sometimes, but during that period (the second half of the 80s, Among the Living is from '87), we shouldn't forget about Megadeth, Metallica, Testament, Exodus, Slayer, Death Angel, just to name a few, but the list is really long... Anthrax had one gear less, I can't explain it, maybe it's that sometimes when a band doesn't hit you right away, they won't impress you anymore. Anyway, Bring the Noise is a mess... but that was another chapter in the story of Anthrax.

Although I am a huge fan of thrash, I've never really appreciated Anthrax that much. Sure, they're a great band, but in the golden years, there was much better. I wouldn't call "Among the Living" a masterpiece; it's definitely a fundamental thrash album, but the masterpieces are something else entirely.
