This time you did better, definitely :) The five-star rating surely helped too. Of course, I don't know the album, but... the last part of the review intrigued me a lot. Venus in Furs is definitely one of my all-time favorite songs!! I will try to get this cover and, although it will be veeeeery difficult for me, I will attempt to listen to it without prejudices and form an objective opinion. We'll see... for now, a vote for the review!

I LOVE your objectivity! Yes, yes, I love it! Usually, when it comes to black metal, it's hard to find... except this time, the review seemed a bit down, or at least that’s how it appeared to me. You know I could surprise you by reviewing an album from a black metal band (with various influences, still) that’s not yet on Debaser? Hahaha, too bad the rating won't be the best. P.S. By the way, does your nickname have anything to do with Death in June?

I quote here and there Zarathustra when he says that the review is a bit confusing and that Home could have been edited down quite a bit (I really don't like this piece... an Eastern-flavored forcedness that is at times not very engaging!). It's just that I don’t agree with the performance of LaBrie: where has the expressiveness shown in Awake gone, for example? Sure, as he must have said thousands of times, he took singing lessons, improved himself, and blah blah blah, but... at the expense of spontaneity! Too perfect, if I may say so, and therefore he is certainly not the soul of the band, at least not in this album! Sure, in SFAM he still delivers a good performance (in my opinion, certainly not excellent as you say), but you can already sense a certain coldness that will fully manifest in later times. Then... why only 2 lines on Fatal Tragedy? It’s a gem, it can’t be dismissed with just 2 lines. My rating for the album is motivated by the fact that I consider Awake decidedly superior (and here perhaps the sound plays a role, which is nonetheless different), but also Images & Words, you know. I rate the review for the effort, even though I disagree with several things and, I repeat, you described the plot a bit vaguely... you can still see that you tried to write objectively, and for a DT fan it’s not easy :)

On average, the record is a 4.5, precisely because there's that RIP which is something beautiful.

No, I won't give you a 1 because you wrote a "negative" review, simply because it's completely wrong! Starting from the - obviously incorrect - general information about the sound to the definition of poorly thrown solos (but who? Mustaine? Are we joking?). If Dave was or is annoying, your review is even more so.
