However, I'm not sure if you realize the colossal proportions of the nonsense you’ve stated: like Kill'em All being the only thrash album by Metallica? And Master of Puppets -just to make an example- regarded by everyone as the quintessential thrash album? But let's go in order... if among the early albums of the 4 horsemen there are traces of previous sounds, presenting a still too immature thrash, well I’m precisely talking about Kill 'em All. But which thrash album? James Hetfield was still wearing a Motörhead shirt! This is a speed album, strongly influenced by Lemmy’s records! Too often there’s a mistake in categorizing music by melody or power, and too often there’s confusion between speed and thrash (melodic for the former, violent and powerful for the latter... or vice versa). Well, the dose of melody in Metallica will grow over time, but that doesn’t mean they will drift away from thrash; on the contrary, right after their first work, they will start to give a certain personality to their songs. And this is coming from someone who adores Kill 'em All...
