Porcupine Tree Fear Of A Blank Planet

yes yes, but in fact, far from me to negatively judge any type of music that has references to pop just for that reason... however, I believe these references are definitely there, especially in the more melodic and calm pieces. I totally disagree with the know-it-all... talking about a decline starting from stupid dream (which, subjectively, can be considered one of their best or even the best of their albums) seems like an insult. However, returning to this FOABP, I feel like recommending it to everyone, a hybrid of rock, metal, electronics, whatever you want to throw in, all beautifully blended (for example, if the electronics had been used more heavily, I would most definitely have something to criticize)...

But why does everyone have it in for Lazarus? He has felt much worse, for heaven's sake! As for the fact that this album lacks "pop-appeal," that's a mistake in my opinion... references to the more "elevated" current pop-rock seem quite obvious. This doesn't take away from the fact that it's a tremendous work, which impressed me from the first listen. Gregor_lake did well to highlight the role of the drummer, often in the foreground (I mean, he even uses the double pedal at certain moments, I would have never expected that!). However, at least for the future, the PT should be cautious with metal influences; you never know, something unlistenable might come out... The discussion about Opeth is nice as well; I agree that they have gained more from the "exchange of information" with the PT, but the topic often revolves around Wilson as a genius, without ever considering Akerfeldt (who, without unnecessary exaggeration, is one of the best rock/metal composers I have ever had the chance to listen to). One note: stop, for those who think this way, considering progressive only the "classic" purist rock, which must necessarily look back to the 70s even after 30 years. Anesthetize is an anthem to progressive music; think a moment about the true meaning of the adjective "progressive" and listen to Anesthetize again... but damn, what a great piece. 17 minutes always riding the wave; as the reviewer rightly said, they never fall into repetitiveness or unnecessary expansions (which, let's not kid ourselves, are often used as fillers when there’s nothing else to put in). For the rating, I'm still undecided between 4 and 5; for now, 5!

Of course you are consistent... thorough in your reviews, thorough in your comments. Thank you so much!

I did it, I finished it! :) But I still have to listen to those sol invictus, if you have some time and could do the usual little job "I recommend their best albums that aren't too industrial" I would really appreciate it... even though I already owe you a lot. Bye!

I would like to add that your reviews are one of the few reasons that still motivate me to check this site from time to time. Well done, thank you, also for the current 93. I can't stop listening to them :)

I think an appropriate "departure" should be made with "But what ends...", very folk, not industrial, but in any case beautiful, as beautiful as it is simple. I never really digested "Nada," just as I have trouble with part of "Wall of Sacrifice" (the first song I listened to that I liked a lot is "In Sacrilege" with Tibet), which, however, I think is more digestible. I also have "the world that summer"... but for me, the best remains the first one I mentioned. Memento, excellent review as always, I will definitely get this since you didn’t talk about industrial ;)

<<And I don't have to prove my intelligence by responding to a ridiculous statement like the one from Orwell>> no, but you can prove it by saying that the plural of "unghia" is "unghia"!

But didn't you say "with this last review, I'm ending my 'mini-career' on Debaser! Goodbye! and fuck you!" ???? eee, the consistency!

It's not about boasting or exaggerations, since the playful spirit of my comment is obvious (as you say), but I certainly don't spend my evenings hunting for your promotional posts scattered across various reviews because I neither have the time nor the desire. However, 5 examples don’t cost me that much; I might lose a few minutes, no more, but they should suffice! You wanted 10? 50? In any case, 5 seems greater than 2/3, right? So: Travelling Without Moving - Jamiroquai - Recensione di uxo - Love - The Beatles - Recensione di zaireeka - Meds - Placebo - Recensione di GrantNicholas - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - U2 - Recensione di Hetzer - Resta in ascolto di Laura Pausini: manifesto della mediocrità Now, regardless of the intent behind your "promotion" and the presence of "spirit" or not, this is an attitude that really gets on my nerves. You might say "who cares," but... Be careful, I'm only talking about this particular thing, I’m not getting into your reviewing skills or anything else. If you want to be treated like Sanjuro or De-Cano who behave in the same way, don't complain if someone sees you a certain way and there are discussions where you find it absurd to be involved!
