Why did you do that track by track? You started off so well! Then I yawned… I don’t know the album and I have no intention of listening to it, A tout le monde with Scabbia (!) on the other hand, I listened to it, it’s terrible! And not that the original piece was such a masterpiece, you know…

Ah, still in the limited edition, there's also the track with Agalloch, "last vestige of old joy." Buy the split CD, damn it! It's beautiful! Maybe one day I'll write a review for it...

Well done, especially for the last two lines that I really liked. In fact, listening to this album (not so much Woodsmoke) can feel quite heavy; contrary to what you said, I think it’s a minimalist record (just listen to the long and stretched interludes)... in this work, the Ambient component is in the foreground compared to the first album, where I still think folk dominates; consequently, it makes me a bit frustrated since I can’t stand almost all ambient music (which is why I prefer Woodsmoke). In fact, it’s suitable for accompanying particular moments, both reflective and otherwise, when you’ve listened to it a few times and it starts to feel boring. I’ll add, since you stole my review, that the limited edition has a cover of Skepticism (!). There you go :D

IN PREVIEW!!! ahahah it's even bolded! Whoever put those 2 words in bold (reviewer or editor) has a great sense of humor.

Well, I’ve never listened to this EP, but I have listened to "My Twin" from "the great cold distance," and I don’t like it much, like the rest of the album, which I think is the weakest of Katatonia (but we’re still talking about very good levels, of course!). The review is great, although you could have avoided the abuse (yes, abuse!) of English terms.

Thank you. @Francesco: honestly, thrash has drifted a bit away from me after years of listening (or maybe it's me who has drifted away, which is more likely), it feels like I’ve heard everything in that genre, and I don't think there are any other bands/albums that could surprise me anymore. Maybe one day I’ll be caught by nostalgia, who knows! @DarkNight: by ā€œthe otherā€ do you mean Trail of the Unwary? Damn it, I had already written that one, I was just waiting for this one to get out of the way to send it! Curse you :D

damn it, I had confused it with Viva Emptiness... rereading Memento's comment had raised some doubts! Indeed, this album is a bit too monotonous in some parts, so I take back the 5 (which is for Viva Emptiness... my memory is failing me! @_@). I found the last track "Distrust" particularly commendable, in my opinion.

Regarding the samples: n1) The Silvershade Lynx; n2) Renewal; n4) Courting; n5) Call of the Wild. The third one is the same as the second, sorry, my mistake!

just a moment... genres: POP ???????? O_O anyway, already from this album, I feel their music leans more towards the fences of rock rather than those of metal; the heavy distortions are not really that heavy, and especially in most cases, they are not the main feature... in some tracks, you can clearly hear how the power chords are inserted more to "fill" the rhythmic base rather than to highlight a hypothetical metal attitude.
