Albert King & Otis Rush Door To Door

Perhaps 5 stars are too many for this (by the way, mine has a different cover), and perhaps I think it was necessary to delve a bit deeper into the technical discussion and also on the topic of influence, because Hendrix's fluid phrasing comes directly from Albert King. One extra point for the blues revival on Deb.

however, I didn't include Hendrix among the covers because Johnson's influence, if there was any, was more subconscious than direct; when Hendrix played the blues, he mainly imitated Albert King, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, and Johnny Guitar Watson.

To tell the truth, the cover art has been chosen somewhat symbolically, and each one represents something. If I had to include something by Hendrix, it would have been "Axis: Bold As Love." The greatest influence on Hendrix lies in his attempt to play a single guitar that sounds like two or three different ones, and "Little Wing" is in a sense the most Johnsonian piece of Hendrix, obviously in relation to new guitar techniques and with all due proportions. Furthermore, in my review of "Blues," I had included a note mentioning that Hendrix's record collection also featured one of the two "King Of The Delta Singers." It doesn't specify which one, but it's most likely the first. The broken link in the first line was meant to lead to the review of "King Of The Delta Blues Singers." I don't think the vinyls can be found; the best alternative is the Complete Recordings from 1990 referenced by boredom.

John Hammond did more. He gave him the acetate of that vinyl. Dylan was the first to receive "King Of The Delta Blues Singers," a sign that Hammond had an eye for talent. Dylan would say that with just one album he achieved what many hadn’t with a lot of records, and if I’m not mistaken, "Hard Rain A-Gonna Fall" was born precisely from studying the metrics of Robert Johnson. I must be honest, I’ve listened very little to Clapton's album on Johnson; I’ve picked at it here and there. I've always been afraid to listen to it, especially "Hellhound on my Trail," which Clapton said he could never truly capture, not even if he had an orchestra at his disposal. I will listen to it.

But damn, let me ask you a curiosity, did you write the 2000 pages? Because considering that an average A4 page has dimensions of 29.7 x 21 cm, and taking into account that a standard typed page has approximately 1500 characters including spaces, that would amount to a total of 3 million characters, all based on the use of a standard Arial 12. Now, if we keep in mind that not all pages have to be full, and that there can also be a lot of figures, and that the font does not have to be Arial nor necessarily 12, let's round down to 2.5 million characters. So to write 2000 pages with 2.5 million characters, considering an average of about 1 hour - 1.5 hours per page, we arrive at approximately 2000-3000 hours of work, which corresponds to about 83-125 hours of uninterrupted work. If we then think that on average we sleep between 6 to 9 hours a day, the question is: has your printer held up? Because mine would have given up after the first 100.

I did it on purpose to emphasize how the shadow of Robert Johnson reaches even records that have nothing to do with the blues. Otherwise, I would have had to include all the albums by Cream and the Stones :D
