Aside from the fact that the intro makes no sense, it's like asking why Britney Spears sells millions of records while the first Velvet album barely sold anything at the beginning. Beyond the audience it's aimed at, beyond the artist in question, beyond the quality of the album, if "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" had been released in these years, it would have received the same number of reviews. You can't compare pears to apples, as a guy with a beard used to say.

I instead had read from one of the four Beatles, I think it was McCartney, that they had a jam session and had quite a bit of fun. Everyone except one, I believe Ringo Starr, because Elvis didn't have a drum kit at home.

@Lewis: I read instead that Elvis welcomed the Beatles very well and even improvised a jam session at his home, I think McCartney was telling that. I also remember a story about a Mickey Mouse watch or something like that.
