It's such a load of bullshit about the Ibanez that if someone types "Brian May Ibanez" into Google, one of the first pages that pops up is this one from DeBaser. Where not only do they make things up, but they also get angry if others correct them, with comments like "get informed and send me a postcard from the land of music technocrats, convinced they're great musicians." It's a fantastic site, fantastic guys, believe me.

Ah, I almost forgot, send me a postcard from your sister, convinced or not it doesn't matter. You know that you’re good at it and can sell it too.

But why do you have recordings of when Brian May was 17? Because he built his guitar himself, he didn't have it built for him. Honestly, if you have these recordings and you tell me he was a fast and hyper-technical guitarist with his Ibanez, I believe you, because in all the Queen albums and in 99.9% of the live performances he has always used his Red Special.

and then calm down, I never said that Queen are great, I said that denying Brian May is an excellent guitarist is something that comes from someone who doesn’t understand music. If you then argue with your quick and hyper-technical jargon, you’re only confirming what I’m telling you. Happy Easter to everyone

The IBANEZ electric guitar? Where the hell do you live? I was saying that his guitar was unique precisely because it's a one-of-a-kind piece, meaning he built it himself; there are no other models like that. And fast and hyper-technical? Virtuosity for its own sake? Maybe we're not talking about the same person.

@negative, I wrote it next to you, those who play the guitar know it. From your comment, it sounds like we're talking about Steve Vai. He may not be Clapton (and no one is saying that) but it’s undeniable that he is an excellent guitarist (I agree with pretazzo). His sound is practically unreplicable, the tone of his guitar is unique, just like his guitar, after all. Truly a great musician, even if one does not agree with his artistic choices and acknowledges his slips in style.

With Queen, there's never any objectivity: you either adore them like gods or you tear them apart as if they were the worst thing ever. The truth lies somewhere in between. Freddie Mercury was one of the most gifted singers of all time, Brian May an excellent guitarist (and those who play know it). They were definitely commercial, but they were also representatives of glam rock and one of the greatest live bands ever. Their first two albums were heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, and Deep Purple, and artistically they're their best works, along with "A Night At The Opera." "Bohemian Rhapsody" is one of the most beautiful and most atypical and experimental songs ever. I've heard much better, but also much worse.
