He cited it to say that musicians who do conceptual things do so only because they aren't capable of playing. There he showed all his ignorance as a carnival sideshow.

Yes, but when he says things like he doesn't like Picasso because he can't paint, he's ignorant and presumptuous because he doesn't know that when he was young they called him the little Goya. But Picasso, unlike Malmsteen (and Vai), wasn't someone who cared about showing off his technique ("it's just an excuse to not admit they aren't good enough"). For the rest, I have always found him technically superior to Vai, despite many denigrating him.

Anyway, I recommend you read it, it's hilarious. It has something for everyone: Satriani, Slash, Cobain, Petrucci, Morello, Zakk Wylde.

Once I read an interview with Malmsteen where he commented on a blind listening session Accordo 5 - Error And it’s hilarious because, in addition to proving to be arrogant and presumptuous, he insults all of his colleagues, including Vai. This is an excerpt: "For the Love of God" (listen to the whole piece) Fuck! You’re putting me in a tough spot. I’ve never heard this piece before, but I know who it is. He’s a great friend, and I don’t like to speak ill of my friends. But unfortunately, the least a guitarist can do is not play out of tune. When you do a bend or use vibrato, you have to do it in tune. And this piece is full of false notes. It’s really, really out of tune. I can’t say it’s good, I’m sorry. Steve is a great friend, I love him, I don’t want to speak ill of him, but his bends sound false, and I don’t like that. I can’t listen to a solo where all the vibrato hits don’t land on the right note. I’m sorry Steve!

I saw him once at Alcatraz in Milan, and he irritated me so much that I wanted to leave early. Eric Sardinas, who opened that night, impressed me way more. There's nothing to say about the technique, but otherwise, he's one of the worst show-offs, and compared to others, he just fades significantly.

if we started to exclude deliberately provocative and useless reviews, the workload would be less and the site would benefit as well

I mean, the rules are there. Those who don’t follow them won’t see their review published. Also, because most of those who don’t respect them are just the usual fakes who, knowing there’s someone who corrects anything, write obscene things just to be annoying. And I must have seen hundreds of them.
