Syd Barrett The Madcap Laughs

The important thing is that you are convinced that the word "illiterate" doesn't exist and that "scenza" is spelled this way. It's interesting to see how you trolls, pathetic subhuman beings, engage in useless provocations when you no longer know what to say. Go ahead, if it makes you happy, tear down all my reviews.

P.S. If hundreds, maybe thousands of famous figures have been diagnosed with bipolar or manic-depressive disorders, it will eventually come to light. Barrett, contrary to what that certified idiot Freebird claims, was a figure who enjoyed a good reputation since the days of "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn". Freebird, why don’t you just shoot that idiot head of yours?! You know, this site would be much nicer if it weren't infested with insipid fakes like you. You say I don't understand a damn thing? You think you have the courage to say you would write better songs than Syd. And learn to write in proper Italian, you ignorant illiterate!

But I can annoy you as much as you want, you know how much I couldn't care less about bothering YOU! On the contrary, it's an honor to have nothing in common! Want the definition?! Open your damn ears and listen carefully to both this album and that other one: if to you they sound like "badly sung nursery rhymes put together in the studio, with the members of Floyd trying to make them listenable," that's your problem; to me, they are songs with immortal melodies (pick any Love Song) and with approximate structures without fixed patterns that stemmed from his moods (take any Wolfpack). I really like the result. And what the hell does Scaruffi have to do with it?! I didn't say that the artists I mentioned suck; I just said they're not my cup of tea, and in any case, I don't want to vote for them because I recognize their value regardless. I'm not a fool like you who tries to pass off his tastes as absolute truths. You can give your definitions while I give mine, and don't bug me!

@freebird: "but why wouldn't Povia be able to write songs that are in this and in the other album? maybe even better, it's not that hard, I can do it too." I'm waiting for you and your dear friend Povia to do something that even slightly resembles this record... But spare me!

No, being crazy doesn't necessarily mean being a genius, and being a genius doesn't necessarily mean being crazy (even if some studies document a good synergy between the two), but Syd was both. After all, the world of art is also populated by characters who suffer from mental imbalances and at the same time possess immeasurable talent. I don't confuse Povia with Syd; what I meant to say is that, since he was brought up by Freebird, we will never run the risk of hearing Povia compose Barrettian songs (and therefore, in the event of reevaluating him) because he is not remotely capable of that. Then again, everyone has their own standards of judgment, and perhaps you don't like this kind of chaotic and skewed music, while I, on the contrary, find it to be a marvelous synthesis of melodic perfection and chaos on the verge of cacophony. Just as you (IL_migliore, Freebird) are by no means poor wretches, I don't think I'm crazy or lost because I love Syd. Besides, you’re not entirely wrong; it's not easy to give a negative rating to an artist or a particularly significant work, even if they don't align with one's personal tastes. For example, I don’t adore Manzoni, Andy Warhol, or the Grateful Dead, but I would never dream of giving them a 1, because I would feel like diminishing their objectively indisputable value based on my personal tastes.

@Freebird: Come on, give me a break! Comparing this insane and immeasurable genius to that fart of Povia! It’s not a question of pedigree why someone like Syd deserves top marks. He could create immortal naif melodies with extreme naturalness, seemingly simple and childlike, while at the same time distorting them with sharpness and sudden evolutions that sprang from his moods. Povia wouldn’t even dream of these things; he probably doesn’t even know who Syd Barrett is! @Il migliore: You must be the one who’s fried!

Edoardo Bennato Le Vie Del Rock Sono Infinite

For me, this stopped being good music decades ago. The comparisons with Sanremo, Scanu, and the flatulent company can't always apply; being better than crap doesn't necessarily mean being great artists. Today, Bennato is definitely better than crap, but that doesn't change the fact that for many years now his sporadic releases have been absurdly mediocre. "...he has always worked hard instead of going to clown around on X Factor or Amici": dear teenagelobotomy, you are mistaken. He anticipated Guccini and De Gregori, who have appeared as guests on X Factor, sparking outrage, by appearing on the show "Popstar" way back in 2001 and accompanying none other than the winning Lollipop girls on guitar. I don't know if there's a footage on YouTube, but trust me, it's true. And what do you say about the duet with Britti "Notte di mezza estate"? If that's even a remotely decent song, then I am Jesus Christ.

Well, I wouldn't mind at all if they got back together, but I fear it’s tough, because from what I know, some of them (I'm sure about the drummer) have really stopped playing. Too bad.
